Total Solution Monkeys last diet

Hi I am a newbie to posting but have been lurking around the forum for ages reading and gaining valuable tips and insights, so I have decided to keep a diary of my time on Exante TS to help myself and maybe give some inspiration to someone else.
My History
I guess it’s pretty much like a lot of people on here. I have been overweight or obese most of my adult life, losing some and then gaining on a variety of different diets.
If I am honest I have always been against VLCD as I thought it was unhealthy and would lead to more weight gain but after yet another failed attempt at slimming world I started looking around the VLCD Forums and something clicked that maybe this was the way forward for me to remove all food and start again. So I ordered my bumper pack of shakes and bars and started TS o Wednesday 24th August.
Day 1
Not really any problems today I had a strawberry shake for breakfast, chocolate for lunch both ok and an orange bar not so good for dinner and I still managed to go to aqua in the evening.
Day 2
Today was harder I felt quite hungry and deprived but energy levels not too bad
Day 3
Decided to split my packs so I could eat more often, had half a shake on my way to work, the rest at about 10.30. Half a shake at 2pm and the rest on my way home at 5 and a toffee bar (much nicer) for dinner, my energy levels were very low, I was lightheaded but less hungry.
Day 4
I always knew weekends were going to be tough but went shopping armed with a vanilla milkshake made with coffee (fantastic tip thanks) When I got home I was so hungry and tired I decided to have a bar for Lunch but I got carried away and ate a second bar and a tin of Tuna L The old faithful failure crept up on me telling me that there was no point in carrying on now as I had blow it but I gave myself a really hard kick up the arse and went round a friend’s house for the rest of the afternoon and evening to try and limit the damage.....I managed to get through the rest of the day with just a bottle of coke Zero and some water, even watched my friend eat a takeaway and some chocolates for afters. Maybe not ideal nutrition wise as I wouldn’t be eating anything for almost 24 hours but I needed to show failure who was in charge here... ME!
Its day 5 now and I woke up with no hunger and some of my energy back. Today I face another challenge as I have a party to go to with lots of nibbles and cakes to avoid but feeling strong at the moment.
If anyone has made it though my ramblings well done :) and thank you to everybody on this site for providing so much help and inspiration I really hope this diary will help me and I will be able to add another total TS day tomorrow.

Aww sorry to hear about your day 4 but you didn't let it stop you on the diet and that's the imortant thing! I hope you managed to stay strong at the party. Good luck with next week, it'll be easier than the first week so keep at it!

Thanks for your encouragement I hope everybody is doing well.

Well made it through day 5 without caving at the party, didn't even want to naughties on offer but i realise that I am still in the honeymoon stage with the plan.
Day 6
I went to the gym before breakfast as normal, wow big mistake, I kept the workout light but by the time I got home I had a raging headache and felt very sick..Lesson learned have a shake before I go.
Day 7
Easiest Day so far, had my half shake for breakfast then forgot to have the other half untill 1 now it's 7 and I really don't want anything but I know i have to get a shake and a bar down before bed. It's amazing how your body adjusts I really didn't think I would survive on so little.
I intend to read this diary if I feel like giving in to remind me of how easy it can be.

It should be weigh in but as I am working away I can't but I had a sneaky jump on the scales at the gym on Sunday and I had lost 2kg which is ok for 5 days I guess.
Congratulations on your weightloss Dustqueen you have done so well

Thanks monkey :) I expect you have lost more all scales weigh different and you will have had added clothes weight at the gym :) when are you going to weigh?

I am going to try and wait until next Wednesday, I don't have scales at home (I can't stay off them) so I weigh in at work on some scales in the accounts department :) I will just have to remember to wear the same thing every Wednesday

It's day 11 today and not doing so well since my last post, old demons raising their ugly heads. I am going to confess to try and kick my head into touch.
I missed a shake on Tuesday as I was so busy not great but not the end of the earth either but I have also missed 1/2 Wednesday & Thursday and 1 on Friday and i should still drink another 1/2 today...I am so scared that I am not losing weight, my head is telling me i need to cut out more. My sensible side is telling how bad this is and I can't continue down this road as long term it's bad for me.

I had a sneaky weigh last Sunday and had lost 2kg and I could jump on the same scales at the gym tomorrow but so afriad if the result is poor it will just give me an excuse to either come off the diet or eat even less.

If someone would like to give me a kick up the arse please feel free.

Let the arse kicking commence lol. Seriously you know all this - you need to have all your shakes you'll make yourself ill. If you are following the plan to the letter you will lose weight - you know you will. You also know there may be weeks you don't lose weight, but will still be losing fat. You are in panic mode and that's understandable, you're making life -changing choices, but you need to pull yourself back. You are a life-long project. Hopefully the weight part will be medium term, but after that has gone you will still have to work on you. We all do. take care of yourself and don't muck about with this programme - do it the way it's supposed to be done - you know it makes sense!

Over time you will lose more weight having 3 packs than 2! Having 2 will not speed up your weigh loss!
Try not to be too hard on yourself you are doing all you can x This is the fastest way to lose weight x

You need to take a big breath and get on the scales . You really must have all your shakes as you will make yourself ill if you dont. This diet does work but you need to follow it to the book. You can do this you can succeed it doesnt take long to see the benifits. Take care and look after yourself. Have a good day and do somthing nice for you xxx

Thanks everyone, just reading your replies made me feel better, I do know this stuff but sometimes it's good to hear it.
I feel better today, had a full shake for breakfast, I will have one this afternoon.
I am going to wait till Wednesday for my weigh in. In my head I am hoping for a 4kg loss in 14 days so anymore than that will be a bonus.

1st 2 weeks are over and I got to weigh myself....11bs gone. Very please with that result.
Did find the hunger returning yesterday, I had a very rumbly tum. I wonder if I have been pushing my luck with milk in my coffee, going to cut down to 1 cup today and see if that helps.

That's weeks 3 out the way, my hunger pains are few and far between but quite sharp and painful when they arrive. I still don't have very good energy levels, I guess I am not going to get that side effect of being in Ketosis.

What I have decided to do is buy a few slim and save spaghetti bolognaise to eat on a Sunday afternoon instead of a shake as I find that is one of my toughest times and feel quite deprived when everyone is sitting down to something hot and yummy, I figure that if I keep it to only once a week it should be ok

Not weighing in this week but did my measurements and have lost 1 1/2 inches of both my waist and my hips and able to get into a couple of my large size 16 trousers :). Another 4 weeks and hopefully I will be able to squeeze into 80% of my wardrobe.....Major incentive to keep going.

Well it's the end of week 6 today I have been trying to just keep my head down and get on with it. I am going to weigh in Friday morning and am hoping for 5lb+ for the last 2 weeks.

This continues to be the easiest and hardest diet I have ever done. Easy because I have no choices to make, I can't wriggle in that 1 little fun size mars bar (which always seemed to lead to me eating the whole pack) Hardest because I really do miss eating, I don't have much energy and I am quite grumpy but husband says thats nothing different anyway :rolleyes:

I am fast approaching my bounce back weight and hope my mindset continues as I have reached this point so many times before and I would really like to break through the barrier this time.

If anyone has had experience of getting through that weight blocker I would love to hear what got you through it.
