Moo's year - 24 st start and restart

The exact same thing happened to me when I joined the gym...I had a gain and a sts for 2 weeks.

Dont panic, there will be lots of extra fluid in you body, from working out and you'll be building up your muscle mass. muscle weighs more than fat. I was told to invest in some scales that give you not just your weight, but your bmi, muscle mass, water etc. Think mine were about £25 .

However, from this you can tell how your bodies composition has changed. The great news tho, as you build more muscle mass, muscle burns more calories than fat and is the best friend of a dieter! ! You will suddenly drop a big amount if you carry on like this.

Keep doing what you're doing and the results will come..not to mention the healthy benefits .

I have scale like that , not sure what exactly are they saying but I know there is water and something else - I never use those features, but when I get back from my aqua fit class I will make my hubby to show me how to work this out =)
 
Agree with Healthy. Every time I ramp up the gym, I have a STS immediately after. There really is something in this adding muscle business. Do not be downheartened - at the end of the day if you have been good food wise and been working out you have not got fatter. That is an absolute fact. :D
 
People often retain water when they start working out. Drink green tea or peppermint tea (leave it to brew for a while so it's stronger) and then weigh yourself the next day, I'm sure you'll see a difference. :) It helps with water retaining x
Or could it maybe be that time of the month? I retain water when it's my time!
 
So I did check my scales. They say fat % , water %, muscle %and bone kg and daily kcal amount.

43% of fat
44% of water
28% of muscles
2,8 kg of bones , lol-
Thats the myth of being big boned out of the door :p
And
3126 kcal per day

Anyway - aqua class was amazing. I spent 266 kcal but I manage to get my heart rate up to 170 and thats in water. Wow
I have done all kinds of water fit classes and there is hundreds of ways to do relaxing part and cool- down but todays was just amazing. Trainer told us to put one noodle under our heads and other under our hips and relax. This felt so good. He left us for few min just enjoying water and light movements that waves can make. Best cool - down ever. Felt so happy after that.
I was lazy to go today. My body hurst and all but Im so proud of myself going there anyway and being part of great work out :)

Blueberries with wheat (he) , banana and syn free yogurt.

I can be so focused only because Im on holiday for two weeks and I hope to make get gym into my system again in that two weeks of time :)

Hey moo, don't be disheartened. You're doing wonderfully. I felt a bit sad a few weeks ago when I gained weight after a week of more intense exercise than usual. I'll explain why this occurs: when you exercise a lot your muscle fibres tear a bit and in order for them to repair they need to hold on to your body's water. That's why you see a STS or a small gain. Don't worry, it'll all settle and you'll have a massive loss the following week (that happened to me last week). Interestingly enough though, muscle does not weigh more than fat. It's a myth!

Im know I should not be sad but with me working as I am , I so wanted to have great two weeks and great weight loss. As going back to work will be hard again. Well - I still have day ahead and one week after that. And at the end of the day - im not in hurry , right ? :)
Was speaking to my friend today and sent her the video about myself in my chef whites. She was just amazed how much I have changed. And when I told that I have gym trousers size L she started to scream as L is her size, lol - Would that make me bad friend as I found its so exciting ( shes 10 st ) - oh well - I know those trousers are just so stretchy :p
Made my day anyway :D

first things first and today my scales were smiling at me , back to 116,2 - at last =) Im still feel pain in my body but much less and I feeling lucky - maybe I will get my award then =)

in few hours I will go and have my first spinning class - I think Im scared - I only ones had spinning class and that was in water. Plus my legs hurt so I dont think it will be my best class - well , will find out soon ;)

Spinning!! Argh!! I do it every morning now I can't run - when I first started I couldn't stand up and cycle. And I mean not at all. So if you can only do it sitting down dont worry!! Xx

God Im scared now, lol - I remember water spinning was great tho , Im sure spinning will be great too - and I guess my legs will be like spaghetti later , lol
Good that gym is only 3 min away from my house , I should be able to get back home :D
