Hi Everyone
Just wanted to let you all know I had my first attempt at making a SW Moussaka tonight and it was yummy!
It was a veggie one using veggie mince
Not sure how sinful it is....? Cant be bothered to work it out but the recipe is:
2 Peppers
1 Onion
4 Mushrooms
As many cherry tomatoes as you like
1x tin of chopped tomatoes
1 tsp of chilli powder
1 tsp of cinnamon
Mince (beef mince or veggie mince)
Topping
Quark
2x eggs
cheese (to sprinkle )
Fry light fry the peppers, onion, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. Once softened, add the chopped tomatoes. Then add the veggi mince and add the mince and the chilli and cinnamon - leave to simmer for 10-12 minutes
Take the mince mix off the heat, place in a casserole or flan dish and leave on the side whilst making the topping.
Make the topping by mixing the quark with the eggs and add a little grating of hard cheese.
Spread the topping mix over the mince and cook in the oven for about 30-40 minutes.
Was loooooooooooovely
Obviously mine wasnt a perfect mousakka because i didnt use any aubogine - but it was still yummy.
I also only used half a tub of quark cos I had already used the other half earlier in the week.
My other half loved it - in fact he ate 3 quarters of the damn stuff - I was hoping to have the seconds tomorrow for my lunch cheeky pest
