my CDC said something that scared me a bit

We were chatting yesterday at my weigh in and we were talking about food and how if you cheat you gain weight on CD. but she said to me if you had a baked potato on this diet you would gain 3 pounds whereas if you had it on WW you would probably be ok as you are allowed it. Why does this happen and will I never be able to eat real food without gaining?

Potato has carbs. Carbs make you retain water thus you gain 3lbs from the potato of which... well, probably 2,9lbs waterweight and 0,1tummy inside..ness :)) CD is low carb and low cal. Once you start working up the plans you will regain some waterweight when you start eating carbs again.

Of course you will be able to eat real food again, you just have to do the steps up at the end so you will slowly replenish your glycogen and the weight won't fly on! Once you've done that you can eat whatever you want, basically, as long as it's in moderation.

that is absolutely ridiculous. you may not loose as much as u should, but u will not GAIN

i think it has something to do with your glycogen stores replenishing.

i think if you follow the maintenence you start eating normally again. just not how you used to so you dont gain it all back

my husband did it last year and maintained well until i got pregnant and kept eating junk food, he didnt gain anything before that though, he just ate healthy food, but food he liked, he had chicken burgers and chips -sorry to talk about food just saying it doesnt have to be just veg
i think what she means is if u was to just jump into eating food again whilst on diet you would gain because a baked potato is full of carbs

also i didnt follow the plans i found out i was preg so just went back to regular food and anything i fancied which was always unhealthy lol, why cant you crave celery LOL, i gained back the 6 stone i had previously lost, this time i will be doing it the correct way

i always crave celery soup on vlcd, which is so weird, cos i wouldnt eat it normally
