I started Slimming World with 227lbs to lose...I am currently 75lbs lighter and well on my way to hitting that first 100lb loss...hopefully by my first year with Slimming World on 10/01/2012 :)

My current "amount to lose" is 152.5lbs and seems much less than 227lbs...that was a very scary starting point and couldn't see me ever getting there but I have took a major dent out of it :)

Well done! It feels great to see that loss number going up, doesn't it?! I'm on 97.6lbs, so close to that century I can taste it, lol. Still another 3 stone to go, but that's ok. Keep up the good work! xx

When you've got a lot to lose, when you put that amount into pounds it does sound a lot!! It certainly was scary for me when I worked it out but I think the trick is to not think about the big number and just plod away, giving yourself small targets along the way. 75lb is a great acheivement well done x

Only 1/2 lb off this week...bit gutted as I was good last week. One of those things...maybe fluid as I was going to the loo quite a lot yesterday after weighing on saturday?!?

Making spicy parsnip soup tonight and going to attempt butternut squash soup too...going for a 100% week this week and seeing what I can do about taking a big chunk out of that 24.5lbs needed to my century club! xx

The recipe is in the Little Book of Soups.

Put 500g of parsnips, peeled and diced, into a pan with 2 cloves of crushed garlic and 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped. Make up 1 litre of hot veg stock and put 250ml into the pan and bring to the boil. Cover the pan and boil for 5-10 minutes. Then add 2 teaspoons or curry powder and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger and the rest of the stock. Bring to the boil again then cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Blend the mixture and add 250g of fat free natural yoghurt and continue to heat on a very low flame. Serve with extra yoghurt if you want to and season with black pepper and salt to taste. Absolutely gorgeous.

Hey there...don't know if anyone is still following but wanted to check in.

I am still losing weight...much slower than I was in my first year but at least it's still going in the right direction.

I am currently 109.5lbs lighter and still loving sw. Joined a new group and restarted but was voted by my new group as woman of the year as I have been a very supportive and helpful member so that was very heartwarming. I have only lost 1st2lbs at the new group but they will find out on Wednesday what my actual total is.

    Here is a recent picture...

as you can see much different to my start weight...

I will try and come on here more often as inspiration is always needed from others...I will never stop needing the support.
