Done sooo well on CD and now got the final stone to lose, the final sticky one that one give up its hold on my hips and thighs:)

I have found that it has not been too hard to stick to 100% up until a certain point about a month ago. I'd gotten to a place where I'm really happy with my body and feel sexy and happy, and I thought it was time to get a life again (am single and it honestly isn't a good thing to be on a date drinking sparkling water).

Generally I'd stick to the diet but on a few days a week I'd go out for dinner and if going for drinks I'd eat a little to not get sick. It's been amazing being out again without the limitations if im honest and ive had so much fun, but Im obviously finding that it is so much harder to stick to the diet afterwards as I'm probably out of Ketosis ;-(

I've seen some losses still but so much slower and after a bad day I'd see my weight go up, a lot, like 6 pounds! Generally takes me three days to undo the damage... So now I want to give a good final bash. Need to get that final stone shifted and have given mysel a 6 realistic week deadline. I've gotten myself a pair of leather pants to motivate myself for that final push, they are tiny and gorgeous and I really want to wear them!

So fellow CDs what motivational advice and tips have worked for you?

It sounds like you're entering the most important phase because this is when it all becomes real... it doesn't feel like it for me at the moment but losing weight in ketosis is the easy bit... you're now needing to make a new life for your self that will work for you... you might benefit from planning healthy menus that give you the nutrients you need in the right calorie range for your height/ build.. are you climbing up the steps?

You might want to look at the long term now and focus on the new way of healthy happy slim living.. rather than being overly focused on the short term..? Planning is everything.. including planning the treats and the challenges..

Good luck with the dating! Have fun!

Hi Blondcarrot, well done on getting down to your last stone! How much have you lost and how long did it take you? You could probably benefit from stepping up your exercise - brisk walking really helps tone the hips and thighs, and the cardio burns fat. I like pilates as well as it is very gentle but effective and toning. Theres loads of free pilates and yoga on YouTube, some are just ten minutes long. Try Pop Pilates lower body workout. I know exactly what you mean about sole source sucking the fun out of socialising. Just today I spent all afternoon in a very lovely beer garden, and sat drinking sparkling water whilst eight other people at the table had beer and burgers fresh from the pub's BBQ grill. Some of my friends that are also doing this diet have started having the odd weekend meal out or glass of wine, and I did cheat in the first month. Now I've finally realised that having something that takes me out of ketosis, even if its just a crumpet, will undo everything I've lost since my last weigh in. I used to settle with 2lbs, 3lbs and think, oh well at least I've lost something. Now I want to be strict and get some good 6lb, 7lb losses. My consultant said at least I've finally worked it out because some of her clients never do, and they waste their money being on this diet longer than they would have done if they'd stuck to it properly. That being said, everyone needs a break, and you need to do whats going to keep you focused in the long run. But for you with so little to go, I would keep my eyes on the prize and just be ultra strict for a month - even when socialising :(

Hi DollyBeth
Thanks for your lovely response.

I've lost 3.5 stones so far since 1st June so it's been a relatively short journey for me after all. I didn't cheat all all in the beginning, never felt the urge. Actually, it was more a social need than a hunger one that have made me cheat, guess I've been lucky like that.

Today despite the good weather I've kept indoors, not to be tempted, ha ha. I really need to stay focused, but might need to have an extra shake as I'm feeling edgy and restless and a bit hungry. Argh think I'm going a bit mad!!

I'm fairly active, cycling everywhere and go to the gym but do want to step it up - I'm going to check out Pop Pilates! Good to get some variety in :)

At the beginning I'd average 4 lbs per week, how about you? How often do you get weighed?

You are right I should just be super focused for a month. Itd be amazing to get to my target by then...

Wow, you've done really well! I get weighed every Wednesday and just had my week 8 weigh in this week. I lost 6 and a half pounds which was a great start to me turning over a new strict leaf. Before that I lost 3lbs for the past 2 weeks, and I think 4lbs the week before that. But I cheated all those weeks. I am hoping for another 6lbs this week, or at least 5. I have a lot of weight to lose, but my mission is to lose 7 stone by xmas, which is doable at 4lbs a week. Sounds like you are already working out and toning up! Are you already on a team? If not I heard Team Spirit needs a few more people, and I just asked to join. So we can motivate each other! Xx

Enough,

:) you are so right! Planning is totally the key to healthy living for me!

How far have you gotten/do you have to go?

I put on weight due to stress at work (14-15 hrs days, ouch) and getting an injury but I know as long as I've got time to cook good food I've not got a problem, but if my work goes crazy I'll end up eating food that's easily accessible, which is never healthy, and to keep energy levels up when exhausted. I've learned I've got to get my work/life balance right and I'll be fine. Think being a bit older now I'll find it easier to push back at work, should I find myself in hat situation again...

I like healthy food just as much as I do unhealthy. Actually I'm the queen of making delicious salads, they just rely on regular shopping (back to balance and planning). I used to be very organised taking a big box of vegetables to work and then slice it all up and assembly it all there, so it was fresh and looked good. Nothing like soggy salad at work, urgh. Been looking at getting a veggie box delivered every week to make sure I'm stocked up, and think it even will work out cheaper.

I don't want to start climbing up until I've reached my target, seems many do the same. Even if it is not recommended by CD... Have you started to climb? Not sure yet what I'll do climbing wise, if I'll be following their recommendations or make up my own plan...

I'm having fun dating, but I don't want to tell my dates I'm on a diet, think it'll be the only time I'll allow myself to cheat. Anyone got any dating advice when on CD?

Those are fantastic losses! Well done. Amazing to lose 6.5 lbs in a week. You must feel fantastic? You will so get there by Xmas if you stick to it. It'll be amazing for you to get dresses up for all the parties :)

I've got about three wardrobes with clothes in different sizes, nearly in my smallest, just a few jeans that are still too small now... And those leather pants....! I should take my eyes off the target now.

I'm not on a team, maybe I should join one. I'll look up team spirit now! The responses from you and Enough have been lovely reminding me to get focused and to pull myself together.
