new to lipotrim - bit worried about its legitimacy

hi - i'm pretty keen to lose weight and a friend of a friend told me about lipotrim. Today i bought my first weeks supply but I'm starting to wonder if lipotrim is really legitimate. The girl in the pharmacy i bought it from didn't really seem to know what she was talking about. She made loads of mistakes when advising me and then had to correct herself when i called her out on it. The lipotrim website looks like a bit of a joke too. It's not exactly very professional looking compared to some of the other diet brands. The packaging is also quite ropey on the product themselves.

Now I don't want to give the wrong idea. I have actually bought a weeks worth of the stuff. Maybe I'm just getting cold feet. I just want to get some reassurance that this stuff is not going to be bad for me, that it works, and that there are others out there using it.

If I am honest, this forum is the only encouraging thing about lipotrim I have seen with my own eyes. It all seems to be based around one guy - Dr Stephen Kreitzman - and I'm hoping and praying this isn't some kind of big con by him.

Sorry for such a negative first posting. Hoping you guys can turn me around.

Dub.

Hi Dub

All I can say is sounds like you had a rubbish Chemist!

Mine is superb, they know the programme inside out, have first hand experience and lots of customers currently going through the diet.

This is my 2nd visit and the results speak for themselves.

If it is a con, I'm yet to see the down side....

Hi Dub, good luck on your journey. As for the legitimacy, well, all I can say is look at everyone's stories & results, they speak for themselves and should let you know that it really does work, and they do give you all the vits and minerals that your body needs to function. Its not an easy diet, hence support on this site is so important, but it works! I agree with Trixie, a good chemist will know the product, mine has actually done Lipotrim and has maintained for a few years now, so he is very helpful, informative, and supportive. Maybe you should look for a different chemist within your area and report your current one to Lipotrim. Good luck

It does sound like the pharmasist isnt great, however, as long as you got the info, it is up to you to stick to it, and if you do, you will loose weight.... I lost a good bit, i found while on lipotrim my health improved, after the intitial first week, i felt better than i had felt in years. The packaging is the way it is because one of the elements of lipotrim is basically to be as bland as possible, the reasons for this is to retrain your palate, to remove yourself from food to try to get you out of the habits of overeating, being sucked in by packaging and blanding down your tongue so your brain adapts and you refocus on a healthy, balanced three meals a day diet.
There are side effects, everyone gets smelly breath, you may experience constipation (fibre clear helps this), and after or during you may experience hair loss.. this stops after a while and is indicative to any diet where you loose weight quickly.
You must stick to it and you must drink heaps and heaps of water, be it peppermint tea, you cant use normal toothpaste but ecyril (sp) and you cant chew normal gum or have anything with citric acid in it as this can knock you out of ketosis... you will stop feeling hungry within 2 weeks, but usually the hunger stops in a few days....
Lipotrim is legitimate, and in some instances you can actually get it prescribed by your gp... it works in all cases except if there are underlying health issues such as diabetes... you may feel weak and a bit faint in the first few days and this passes.. you must be commited to sticking to the plan 100% otherwise there is no point atall... please read everyones posts and especially look at their tickers and weight loss at the bottom of each post and you will see it works... hths

All ill say is yes the lipotrim site is crap i totally agree and some of the pharmacist's aren't brilliant but this diet does work. I dont drink milk or eat butter pretty much not into dairy and since i started on this diet my nails have grown, my toenails havnt grown in nearly 4 years and now they are growing. That proved to me i have all my minerals and vitamins and my aunt done this 2 years ago and she had had to have IVF treatment twice to have her children and she got pregnant naturally on this diet which you will begin to see when you read the posts alot of people get pregnant because your body has everything it needs. Im not gonna lie this diet is hard ive been on it 2 months now an im still hungry but im the same hungry that i wud be if i was eating normal food and i do get very full on the shakes.

This diet is real, sometimes i tink more real than weight watchers coz this always gives results. It challenges your mind to realise why you eat wat you eat and really does change how you look at things.

However this is not an easy fix sometimes it really challenges you not only physically but also mentally as you are forced to see why you ate certain tings in certain situations.

It really is a lifechanger if you are willing to change your ways and stick to 100% and if you fall off the wagon (which i hope you wont) you can get back on and you can treat it as a lesson learned.

I really hope you find much more than that this diet is legitimate on this forum coz there is so much to gain from it.

Good luck on your journey and please keep us up to date it is lovely reading other people's views.

Hi Dub
Lipotrim are certainly legitimate - try phoning their advice line - it's excellent. I like the fact that the packaging is so plain - it is not commercialised like some other diets - it's not trendy or cool, but it definitely works, and you get all your proper nutrients.
I do think they need to look at their pharmacy programme though. I'm not sure they check up on their pharmacists very well; my first one was rubbish and gave me terrible advice (like eating Tictacs to help with my breath), but I have a new one now and it's brilliant. I get great help, encouragement and advice and would certainly advise you (a) let Lipotrim know if you get poor service at your pharmacy and (b) find a better one.

Good luck with it - stick to it 100% and you can't go wrong.

I've never heard that about the toothpaste?

Yep, alot of toothpastes have sweetners in that aint good, it is only a small thing, but its the same as the chewing gum... My pharmasist, who is great, says the only toothpaste totally ok is eucaryl (still cant spell it) as it doesnt have the ingredients that can knock you out of ketosis, also the only mouthwash suitable is listerine original, not the other flavours.. and theonly breath freshener is listerine strips, as these do not contain the sweetners or ingredients that can effect ketosis hths x

I didn't know about the toothpaste either and I brush my teeth several times a day - as I'm conscious of my stinky ketosis breath!

Has everyone else been told??

I dont think you need to worry about toothpaste!!!

This diet wouldnt be being sold in chemists if it was a con!!! Just look around on here at the amazing results people have on this diet....that should explain all :)

Sorry, the toothpaste is called euthymol, just got my son to get it for me from the bathroom x

yeah the toothpaste ting i tink is a bit odd coz ive never been told that just dont get a citrus one.

thanks a million for all the encouragement and reassurance. It really has helped a lot. Will (nervously) get stuck in to my first ever diet first thing tomorrow morning :) I expect you will see a lot more of me on this forum asking one stupid question or another. Please be gentle! :)
thanks again,
dub

Haha! huge tip add lots of crushed ice makes the shakes much easier to go down coz they aren't exactly yummy for the first few weeks. but you never know some people really liked them.

Welcome to LT and the forum Dubcat!

Believe me LT is legit! It has changed my life beyond recognition. I've lost 6 stone in 11 weeks. If someone had told me 11 weeks ago that I would be a completely different person in such a short space of time I would have laughed my shrinking ass off!

Get a different chemist! They sound a bit rubbish. My chemist is fabulous. Having a good chemist makes such a big difference. My GP and my consultant know I'm doing LT. They think it's fantastic and actively encourage it.

Good luck for your first week. If you need any help, advice, support come on here and someone is always here to help. This forum is a lifeline and should be on the LT bag!

Yes the website's embarrassingly low-rent and crap.
Yes some pharmacists are terrible.

BUT. Thank god for this forum ;)

i've lost loads of weight, feel great and cannot praise Lipotrim the product highly enough. My pharmacy has been wonderful, well informed generally and very supportive.

never heard about using a particular type of toothpaste but as long as we're not chugging it (or mouthwash for that matter!) you should be fine!! i've certainly not been using that brand, have stuck almost rhoughout to original Listerine and now using corsodyl which is much preferable i think.

Good luck, i think it's great that you've been researching the diet before you start it! :)

To be honest with you half of us are pleased with the knowledge and support of our pharmacist and half of us are not. There is one thing that we all agree on and that is this forum. We find all the information and support we need from here. The advice and information is directly from those who are using this product. You can ask a question and get an answer within minutes.

I found out about this diet from someone who was using it and did not even visit the Lipotrim website.

I also agree that after looking at their website today, it does not look as glam as the other diets, mind you the other diets are the ones that did not work for us and I think they are more glam as they need to try and win people over. I believe that Lipotrim does not have anything to prove as it's success speaks for itself in this forum.

My advice is for you to read the old posts on here and see how people are on this diet.

It is a hard diet but it gets better after a couple of weeks. If you are serious about it then I am sure you will be happy with the outcome.

Good Luck!
