New year, same me; just less wobbly + Project 52!

Looked everywhere for celeriac in Tesco; couldn't find any. Really curious about the stuff. Can you get it from the supermarkets or does it have to be a specialist place?? xxx

Should get it in most supermarkets. It's quite large, knobbly ugly looking ball! Haha, some people love it though! oh and BNS is butternut squash x

Yes I got my celeriac in asda, it was quite expensive for a root vegetable (£1.50!!) and quite a lot of hassle, so don't know how I feel about it on a long term basis! It was with the swedes and turnips Barry xx

With your colouring, i'd say the Laura Geller Phenomenal is best for you, the fair is a porcelain colour but it's one of these true match ones so if you happened to catch a tan it would still work :D The Kanebo foundations are made primarily for an Asian market so all tend to have a slightly yellow undertone. If I were you I'd harness your natural blushes with a touch of pink highlighter- the Avon radiance pearls would prob be good for you (think that's what they are called, not the bronzing ones: the pink ones!)

I've had one hell of a morning! Everything gone wrong, turned up for work thinking it would be a full day but was finished by 8am  so i've come to my aunt's house to eat my brekkie and check on her puppy.

It's a hard life being a Yorkshire Terrier.

Hey Jez. Can I be really cheeky and ask you a foundation question? I saw you recommend Laura geller and thought I'd give it a go as I'm about to run out but I wasn't sure what colour to use. I like quite a dewy polished look if that makes sense. I usually use clarins or Estee Lauder and at the moment have clarins teint multi regenerant in wheat... Any help would be mucho appreciated and apologies again for the rather cheeky request :) :)

Yay doggies make any day better! :D as do unexpected early finishes so you are onto a double win start to the day!! x

Hey it's ok Whitey, nice to see a new face about the diary. Firstly, I must admit that i've never come accross the Clarins foundation you mentioned but I have used the Firming foundation so my colour comparison will have to go from that i'm afraid.

Firstly: is the wheat a true match for your skin or do you find it too dark/light or too strongly undertoned (orange/yellow/pink)?

Secondly, the LG Phenomenal is limited to 4 shades. Although it always matches pretty well you may find that you will need a finishing powder to juju the colour up a bit as it can be a bit flat. With the finishing powder you will a) be spending more money and b) ppotentially lose the dewy look you prefer?

For a one step dewy finish, you may be better trying MAC Studio Fix, generally regarded as the King of dewy foundation finishes or Dior Vitalumiere xx

Unfortunately haven't finished but did enjoy sitting down for my breakfast for a change!

I liked getting to see my doggy cousins but sad that I have to leave my little girl at home on long days like today :(

gorgeous puppies! :D love dogs but have a very very timid cat called Milo atm, so no puppies for me until Milo has 'moved on' (hope he never does :p)

also feel very out of my depth.. i dont really wear makeup at all.. i am a very plain jane!

My OH loves cats but unfortunately Dita would not have it!! She rules the house unfortunately :(

As for makeup- I am very envious of people who don't wear makeup!! I wish I could do that. It's catch 22 for me- I wear soooo much makeup that when I don't I look odd and i've made my skin so bad through putting so much product on my gob that now I have to wear it :wave_cry:

Aww what a cutie :) I can't wait til I have a job/house that would be more doggy friendly and can get one! x

Thanks icklerockchick. Think Tesco need to update their fruit and veg range! BNS - :d'oh: pretty obvious when you think about it! Thank you xxx

Lol - after reading the :8855: 'negative celeriac propaganda' as you said on Erm's diary wondering if I shall bother!!!

Thanks Jez - will have to save up for some of these but they sound well worth it. Sorry if you've already written about this before but what is your official job title? It sounds dead glam and you obviously really know your stuff!

How gorgeous is your puppy cousin??????

Hope you're having a great afternoon hun :bighug: xxx

My "official" job title would be Company Owner as it's very rare I *actually* do make-up these days. I have a small bank of staff, some permanent and some agency who I supply for contracted events. The only time I ever do makeup is in an emergency or as a favour- largely I negotiate the contracts and do a lot of schmoozing :party0036: Also in charge of flirting with the taxman

Previously, my job titles included "Product Expert", "Training Rep" and "Area Registered Artist" which, would you believe, all translate to "Makeup Artist" (with extras!). I have worked for QVC, L'oreal and Art Deco (a German cosmetic company used solely in industry); went freelance a couple of years ago and was funded by the Princes Trust to setup my company, then it sort of went in a direction that I hadn't expected which ended up with me somehow not doing makeup anymore. This is after I did an English Language degree with the intention of becoming a criminal linguist- I didn't finish the last few months of my degree and never went back to it

I don't like what I'm doing at the moment and I've had a few set backs of late, mainly involving staff. My OH hates my job as I travel round a lot, so there has been recent talk of just going freelance and doing what I enjoy :sigh: But I wouldn't earn half of what I do now  It's not glamorous at all Barry, lots of long hours and a lot of time on my own but surrounded by people iykwim?

OH AND upload your photos onto Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket (you'll need to set up a free account). Once uploaded, the site will give you 4 codes for bandying the photos about the internet :D You just need to copy the one titled IMG Code and paste it into your forum post and it will show up as a photo xx

I'm sure there are other ways but I like that way!

Wow that's fab advice Jez thanks ever so much. I find the clarins probably a bit pink but it does give pretty good cover I guess but I'm not expert. I work right by house of Fraser so I'll have to pop in and look at the mac stuff.

Love the doggy pictures too. I'm London girl (a friendly one ;)) so cant have a dog but my folks have three and love going home to see them. I have a house rabbit whose ace but would still love a dog xxx thanks again hun :)

You are welcome :D The MAC counter staff will give you better advice than I can as they can actually see you :) And they may have a better suggestion for "dewy" skin that takes your skin type into consideration. Make sure you get a few samples before you buy and let me know what they suggest so I can update my knowledge :D

See, we're all learning.

Casual food update for the day:

2 choc weetabix (heb + 2), mullerlight and a nana for breakfast, 2 apples and another nana as snacks through the day.

Leftover roast for lunch: bit of chicken, tatties, pasrnips, carrots, cabbage, broc, sprouts, carrot swede mash, bit of gravy (2)

Prawn & edamame bean stirfry for tea
ForumRunner_20120227_214902.jpg

Had half a sachet of Blue Dragon chow mein stir fry sauce and was disapppointed that i'd wasted 2.5 syns on it! Not as nice as my usual (and free) soy sauce, ginger and garlic creation. Threw a sachet of noodles in and then realised that they weren't dried: are fresh noodles the same as fresh pasta?? Oh bugger.

Also sad that edamame beans seem to be neither superfree or speed :( they are the only bean to date that i've enjoyed!

In other news we have a meeting with our wedding cake baker tomorrow :D

Yeah, fresh noodles are synned :( How much depends on what kind I think!

Ooo, wedding cakes! Have you chosen your cake? What is it like?

Thanks Jez - it sounds very high powered and great to be your own boss but people under you causing hassle - I can relate to that; that is pretty much why I'm on supply and in a bad place financially!

Also it must be tiring having to constantly have a 'public' face on and all the travelling but you sound a proper entrepreneur! Difficult one - what you enjoy vs big salary cut. Could you maybe wait a bit until the company has built up even more then be an exec. owner or something leaving you free to pursue other projects? A shame about your degree - can you still count what you've done if you ever decide to go back to it? You're a real achiever hon! Am very impressed!

Thank you so much for the photo info too - will do that tomorrow!

Food looks great btw! Catch you tomorrow hun xxx

Our cake will be a bit off the wall! Cupcakes representing the sea, then we want a cake topper of me, the OH and the dog in a rowing boat being dragged under by the kraken.......yes I know it's odd! I'm just not a wedding cake kind of person :D
