Newbie ahoy!

Hi guys :)

Joined today because I felt I need a little more motivation in my weightloss and this seems like a nice, friendly community so I would like to contribute to it :)

A little bit about me:

I'm 19 and fed up of being overweight. Been trying to lose weight for about three years now and have not had much success. I've gone through various different methods of losing weight and, after coming to the conclusion that they weren't for me, I would do things the old fashioned way - Eat right, exercise hard.

I've set myself a goal to lose about 3 maybe 4 stone by the end of July 2011 but without motivation it won't happen. Figured by joining this site I'd get motivated by reading about people who have had success :)

My hobbies include films, music, games and photography. I also like going to live music events, and have been to the Sonisphere music festival two years running :)

But yeah, I hope to get talking to people on here and ultimately reach my goal :)

Hi Joker,
I only just joined the other day for a similar reason, already lost a fair bit of weight but I'm still overweight and want to get to a healthy range asap. I've never been in a healthy weight range in my adult life so it's a good goal I think!

I'm hoping chatting a people with the same goals is going to help as going it alone is so much harder...anyway good luck! , what is going to be your goal?

Well done on losing weight. I think everyone on this forum will appreciate that it is very hard to do, and it is my personal outlook that a stone lost is an achievement, and a pound lost is a step forward. I'm the same, I've never been within the healthy weight range in my teenage years, let alone my adult ones. It's a very good goal to have!

My overall goal is to get slim. I have a brother who has lost weight, and he roughly weighs in at around 13 or 14 stone, whereas I currently weigh 20 and a half stone... :(

For the sake of setting a date, my current goal is to lose 3 or 4 stone before July next year but depending on progress that may change. Monthly, I'd be very happy with a loss of around half a stone (Or 1-2 lbs a week).

Hi Joker, welcome to the forums, I hope that you find some inspiration, encouragement and of course support on these forums. I've been helped greatly to get my exercise done daily and keep to my diet since joining here, it definitely helps to have somewhere to come and talk about things and also post up your own achievements!

We can all identify with how hard it can be to lose weight and I wish you every success in your weight loss journey from now on. Hope to chat with you soon. :) X
