newbie :-D

Hiya,

Kinda new to the forum been looking at recipes for a while and finally took the plunge to register! So Hello everyone!!

I used to follow SW a few years back but as getting married in November really need to shift some of this weight! Therefore went back to class on Monday :)

As following Exra Easy was wondering if this is ok on a typical day:

breakfast - 2 x wholemeal slices of toast from 400g loaf (HeB) 2 x hard boiled eggs, mushrooms and 1 tbsp bertolli (4 syns)

lunch: pasta, cucumber, tomato, pepper, spring onion, sweetcorn 30g cheddar (HeA)

tea: chicken and veg curry (inc cauliflower, carott, celery, mushrooms and onion) with rice

snacks: pear, apple and melon

just finding there is so much to eat theres loads!! is this right?

peachy

Looks good to me, plenty of superfree which is important on Extra Easy. The only thing I would ask is how did you make the curry? Was it a Slimming World recipe or a jar sauce. The jar sauces can be very high in syns. Also you've only used 4 syns, you are allowed between 5 -15 and at the start it's recommended to aim for the higher end so that as you get closer to target you can reduce these to shed those awkward last few lbs.

thank you for replying, the curry i made from scratch, tinned tomatoes, curry powder guessing thats free? i did put tomato puree in, that was synned before, i think its free now.

i love my fruit and veg but didnt know if i was having too much! lol

thanks again

Looks fine and yes curry powder is free, and so it tomato puree :) Try and aim for at least 10 syns, so you have something to cut down on if/when you begin to struggle.

lovely jubbly always hated spending syns on tomato puree before!

i used 10 syns yesterday (above was mondays menu) so hopefully will stick around 10 - 15 from now on :)

Can i ask what you have beejn drinking too as if you are having tea or coffee you will have to syn any milk you have for example so you need to take these things into account too.

As for using bertoli and using syns why not buy fry light and not use syns on it?

Its also very hard for us to know if your curry is syn free as we dont know how you cooked it and what you added to it.

Sorry to be vague but it doesnt tell us much.

Best of luck though :)

Check your tomato purée has no oil in it - it's still syns if it has. Other than that your food looks fine to me x

Looks ace to me! Only thing I'd say is that oil is 6 syns a tablespoon, not 4 - but you have plenty to spare :)

Hi,

The Bertolli is a spread for my toast, think oil or frylight would be a bit ickky lol.

Also the curry - I fried Mushrooms and Onions in frylight, a tin of tomatoes, cauliflower, carrots and celery were boiled before being put in, along with tomoato puree and curry powder. Oh and I added a bit of garlic too and a tiny bit of splenda sweetener. That's it.

And boiled the rice as you normally would.

I very very very rarely drink any hot drinks. So stick to no added sugar squash and water. May have a can of diet coke at dinner time. With squash and water drinking between 7 - 9 glasses per day (just under a pint per glass).

Hopefully that should be all ok on SW?

Thanks
