:wave_cry: Anybody out there with partners, OH's etc that get really edgey when you are on this forum?? My usually lovely supportive OH gets all huffy when I type away on the computer,( and I'm loving this forum by the way), he plays the TV really loud and gets all sulky, its really funny, also annoying :sigh:
On day 4 I had detox from hell, felt ultra and extraordinarily weepy, kept blubbing at the drop of a hat:cry: and his behavior didn't help :copon:. So I have had to wait until he went back to work this morning so I can get back to chatting.
Do you think he feels threatened by my future weight loss? I've showed him the forum, but sometimes a girl has got to keep a little things private and to herself. Until I lose any weight I'm keeping this LT thing private, just chatting with supportive folk here exclusively for now. He says I should share everything with him...but I don't wanna!
    Am I wrong??

My bf is always making snide jokes about me living on this forum but i ignore them - he sits there happily watching the football or playing football manager, or anything to do with football for that matter and i sit on here typing and reading away! lol

My bf has said to me at the very start and a couple times during my lt journey that were probably guna split up cuz ill get all slim and wont wana be with him, my reply 'whatever - i love you, spent 5 years with you not going to leave you cuz im slim again!' lol - so your oh is probably a little insecure about the whole thing as afterall, your are going to regain so much confidence it probably scares him too!

But, just let him be - men when theyre sulky arnt worth the hassle! :giggle:

I thank God sometimes that I only have net access at work- my Hubby has NO idea what I post on here- or even that I post anything! He'd be MORTIFIED that I would dream of talking about 'personal' things to strangers? But I'd be lost without you all!! He has no idea about computers so when I talk about things like facebook, he just thinks it's a site where my family & friends post photo's! Maybe it's a good job....

My hubby doesn't mind at all cos when I'm on this at home he can watch whatever he wants on the tv or play a computer game or something without me moaning about it. He knows this site gives me such support that he doesn't mind.

    Thanks Irishmum and Summer,
I'm not the only one then really.
This diet is revolutionary for me in every way. I'm starting to see everything differently. Firstly hubby ( and he is my darling and a honey) may actually feel 'safe' with me large.....mmm may have to address that at some stage, and secondly I am starting to look at food differently ( and it is still early days yet). Seriously considering going semi-microbiotic when the outer shell has gone and the new me steps through. I find myself craving (not seriously...so I'm not in danger) of all things...SALAD, not a big greasy burger or cadburys...just a lovely salad with lemon juice squeezed over......really!!

my OH doesnt mind either. in fact its a lifeline cause its been known that when ive cooked the family a large meal and i cant sit there and watch them eat it, i come on here to take my mind off it.

i have to say my husband has been nothing but supportive but he has stated that he doesnt want me to do this diet again because hes afraid that i will 'crock up my body' which i can understand...im determined this time that i wont have to..

    h xx

    MiniB,
I'm gonna train my man to be the same. I guess he has to learn confidence along with me. And who thought this was going to be a journey for two??

Once you reassure him you're not interested in anybody else just cos you've lost weight, I'm sure he will be fine. A little insecurity isn't too bad just as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

My hubby has been so supportive. He's shopped, cooked for himself and my daughter (up untill now his speciality was shoving a pizza in the oven), makes the sandwiches, washes my blender for the next shake, and lets me sniff his dinner whenever the urge comes over me.

He's so happy I'm doing something, which will raise my self esteem so I won't cry when I have nothing to wear etc etc.

He says he has never been ashamed of me but I feel ashamed when we go out looking like a mop and bucket (He's 6ft 4 and as slim as can be against my 5ft 4).

I'm determined to do it for me, but also for him.

I know what you mean but what are we supposed to do when we have done all our cleaning cooking etc etc we need to talk to people who are in the same boat (small boat I may add haha) because they understand on this forum.
My hubby is fine about it and sometimes I type away on my phone and sometimes laptop - he just gets on with things.
I must admit we've not been out in the evening for ages and I do miss that but it's not forever is it x :):)

I'm nearly at the weight I was when we got married (only 2lb to go!) so he has no need to be insecure that I'll go off on him if I get a bit slimmer. He thinks I'm insane to be 'starving' myself, but knows I'll be happier when I can shop in any shop I like- rather than 'plus-size' shops...his credit card mightn't appreciate it though! I just have to remember to give him plenty of affection when we're out together so he doesn't get all thoughtful & insecure!

He knows I am health-conscious (ie. I want to be around to see my girls grow up! And not be the 'embarrassing' mummy, well, I probably will be at some stage, but I don't want it to be because of my size! LOL!)

He is impatient however, and keeps asking when I can eat food and socialise again. When I replied 'When I lose another 1 1/2-2 stone' his wee face fell. I guess I'll just have to be dedicated 100% so I get there sooner rather than later eh?!
