Was the blood test called ESR?? this test is usually done to detect inflamation, for arthritis or other inflamatory markers, could be inflamed bowel, depends on what symptoms she had, why they asked for the test originally, try not to worry, the result varies the bodies way of dealing with various things is to absorb different things into the blood to remove them, this is then shown as a raised level ie. there is more of it than normal - because the body is trying to remove it.When someone has arthritis the inflamation markers show a raised level for many reasons there is usually another symptom eg. increased stiffness in arthritis, or IBS in bowel inflamation,

I couldn't read and not post. Try not to worry too much, the inflammation markers showing in your Mum's blood sample could be so many things. I really hope she's ok and she gets some good news soon.
