op date

hiya,just thought i would let those of you that know me know that my op to have my gallbladder removed is the 4th feb, i got it this morning, i am sooooo scared lol :cry: such a wuss when it comes to ops and anaesthetic but i know it is best to get it over with and not be in the pain anymore etc....so three weeks,one day and counting lol

Nicki, you'll be just fine. I had mine out and have never looked back!
My friend is having hers done on 8th March and the surgeon says she'll be a Day Case!!
If they do the laparoscopic type it's very simple.
I can understand you being scared though.
The thing to remember is that it really does need to come out, before you have any more cholycystitis (or even worse, pancreatitis!)
Spend the time picking nice (much smaller size) jammies and slippers etc.
Ask me if you need any more info.
You'll be a new woman after this Hun xx

thankyou both, i feel excited to be honest,will be glad to get it over with, it has literally been months of agony since refeeding so will be a big sigh of relief...will be moving out the week after the op though so got to get lots of help in i think

Hi Nicki,

Good news on your surgery date to have your gallstones out, so at least now you have a date for your surgery and you won't have to suffer with the pain of it after this.

It is only natural to be feeling anxious and a little scared but as Cathy has said it is a relatively simply operation nowadays.

yeah,thanks everyone, i definitely need to look at all the positives instead of just the negatives as the positives by far outweigh the negatives, i have always looked at the bad side of things and at what could go wrong etc, goes hand in hand with the depression that i suffer from. hopefully this will be a fresh start, i can finally start to enjoy the slimmer me !

Great news Nicki. You'll be much happier once it is all over. My friend had hers removed Friday and was out very quickly. Don't try to do too much afterwards, difficult I know when you have children!!!!!

Hi Nicki, I'm so glad u have ur op date through. I know you are a bit scared, but it will be well worth it to be free of the pain. It has been going on long enough. You will then be able to get on with enjoying your weight loss x
