I have used them and they didnt make any difference, its just the salt content you need to watch i think

The official party line with Dukan is fat free cubes only...

(shame they don't sell them in England!)

It'd be a good question to ask on the official site... also re cream soda (which I think is more than 1 calorie a glass so, strictly speaking, also not ok per French Dukan rules).

While you're all losing - happiness and great joy to all...

BUT he seems to be tweaking things A LOT for the English market so either there is far more leeway than I ever realised over here OR while you're right that one oxo cube divided by two people isn't going to affect your loss, but added to this / that and goodness knows what else he's allowing in England... I foresee problems perhaps in the future!!

Let's see!

But how to make one's own stock without fat?

I don't think he considers the sort of cooking you might be doing...

What are you using stock for?

Sounds perfect then for Dukan cooking! Use plenty of spices... herbs... but avoid the cubes if you can.

Re original question - Oxo stock cubes

The question has been asked on the official website and answered by a Moderator... (not sure if her answer "helps" though!).

She says:
"stock cubes are allowed if they are fat reduced so you will need to check if that particular brand does this. As it is also very high in salt it would be best if they were also salt reduced. (Of course don't go crazy on them)"

Ever seen fat reduced Oxo cubes?

Not at all Jet. I didn't start using spices and flavours for quite a while. All my life I've cooked very plainly and it was only when I got a bit bored with PP'ing, that I saw how much fun we can have with flavours.

I've even become more experimental (for me!) since knowing Vicky... her marinades have really livened up my taste buds...

Perhaps just try a little and see how you get on? It's certainly not obligatory and if you prefer plain food, then why not! (Just that I didn't really prefer it, but had to find a substitute for cooking with wine, cream, cheese, etc!!!)...

The cream soda I buy from morrisons says calories = trace so I think it's ok
