Step 1 Sole Source Pain killers

Hi everyone. I've been on and off this plan for over a year now and really have the worst headaches. I'm doing everything the 'correct' way With water etc. last few months I've started to take ibuprofen and only just realised tonight that they are in fact sugar coated :-O should I stop taking them??????

No, the sugar coating's fine - there won't be anything like enough sugar in the coating to cause a problem, so don't worry. You might find ibuprofen irritates your tummy though, so be careful. It's probably best to take pills with a shake where possible. Or switch to paracetamol as that's gentler on your stomach.

Lilly thank you very much for replying. Sadly paracetamol don't really do much for me. Now you mention the tummy thing with ibuprofen I do have a dodgy tummy when I take them. I've never noticed before. Thank you for that i think I might try paracetamol again. It might work? Xx

Hi babycham. As a long term pain sufferer I have tried just about every pain killer in the book in various combinations. You have to be REALLY careful with ibuprofen as if you don't take them with food they can actually make your stomach bleed and I think cause ulcers.

How about trying some aspirin instead? Or take ibuprofen but with actual food such as the porridge or a bar? Something a bit more substantial than a shake or soup?
