Hello, I am new to this forum but I am at my wits end now
I weigh just over 21 stone :sigh: I have tried every diet under the sun and the lowest I got was 16 stone a few years ago because I went on the Cambridge diet and got really ill off of it (I lost a stone in a week....not good!)
I got told at 18 that I may have PCOS but most likely just IBS it was when I started to get a lot of pain at 21/22 and was taking a lot of time off, I had a op and they confirmed that I had PCOS! Although they still don't know why I get a lot of pain still!
I have all of the lovely side effects and I am sick and tired of feeling like a over weight man and would love to get back down to being slim again like I was in my teens!.
Now at 25 I am looking to sort my life out and eating healthier as I am worried I will not make it till me 30s if I don't do anything about it now. I have tried many diets and have been told that the low GI diet is good for people with PCOS with insulin resistance as it helps with keeping blood sugars even.
Every Monday I have great intentions to re start a healthy eating style rather than a diet because I know it is for life! How ever I tend to fail after 1 day. I try not to have bad food in the house but my Boyfriend likes to eat junk and so does my house mate and they don't even put a pound on! I also know that if I want something sweet I can bake something easy, I don't even think about it I will find a way!
I am now very depressed about my weight and go round in circles, going on a diet, braking my diet, then over eating because I have broken my diet.
I read so many success stories and would love to be one of them but I have no motivation any more after the years of failed diets and I really don't want to have surgery to lose weigh I want to do it myself!
Thank you for listening to me I know it is a long post but I am at braking point today and need help as I cant do it on my own any more!
Lou
