Alot of people do this? i think often its just said without real though..

yesterday for example, my three year ol neice who was a very tried and grumpy girley threw an almighty strop in the middle of the cafe, and refused to sit on her own seat.

some woman tutted at me and said ' these young mums just give in, thats why they always end up like THAT'

no, she was tired, and under the weather, and just really wanted a cuddle with her aunty fern. How dare she?

had she been just stroppy, and throwing a strop over somthing really silly, then yes. I would have delt with it, but she just wanted a cuddle.. some kid had just pushed her over in the park and being unwell she was a little delicate! lol

huff. lol!

People are always telling my sister that her daughter is hungry/tired/needs a nappy change, it's really irritating to even just observe! You can either keep quiet and let them be think-they-know-it-alls, or what I would do, and infact did once to my uncle (a bit too close too home, probably wasn't the best idea) say 'No, I don't feel comfortable holding her head because she has been able to hold her own since she was born' or the relevant response, lol, he had told me about 5 times to put my hand on the back of her head, being all 'I've had 4 children, I have experience with this, she's only a month old, you should hold her head, support her head, you have to do it to all children, I had 4 remember?'... Riles me up just thinking about it!!

But you know best ;) xxx

i just dont get why people have to comment!
I am thirty years old next year and not that age matters when you are a mum but to me when they say that it makes me think they think i am stupid and too young?
I dunno!

I still get that now and he's 2! We also have the added bonus of "should he be eating that" for anything like asparagus, or chilli, or anything that basically isn't a chicken nugget, and "Ohhh bet he has a temper with that hair" He has red hair, and no he does,nt have a temper (yet) he's very sweet natured ty.

That's the one that gets me. Mine used to both sit in the shopping trolley, with a red pepper each. Love them and eat them like apples. Without fail, at least one, often many people would stop and say, do you relaise what your daughters ahve got, can't be good for them, what are you doing to them. More than once I ahve been asked if they wouldn't be better of with chocolate buttons. NO THE WOULD NOT!!! They like pepper and it is good for them.

People do comment because they like to make polite conversation ;) That's probably all it was.

With regards to kids throwing tantrums, the best thing (I found) to do is ignore them and let them get on with it. When you pick them up and give them attention they are getting what they want. I used to let people frown and comment at my daughter if she had a tantrum, it's usually those who don't have kids or who haven't been around kids who comment!

I wouldn't let it get on your nerves really. If we all minded our own business all the time then there would never be any polite conversation going on anywhere would there?!
