Hi,

I wanted to make a nice pizza Sw style, but the recipe on the site is telling me to buy pizza dough mix, dunno what that is, was wondering if anyone on here had a nice recipe for one? That's kind of easy!?

Thanks x

I cant find the recipe using the pizza dough, but this might help

FREE PIZZA RECIPE

  • 1 x bag of SMASH (apparently the cheaper the make the better, so will try it with smartprice instant mash soon)
  • tomato puree
  • any cheese(s) from health extras
  • oregano and basil
  • any toppings such as onion, mushroom, sweetcorn, even quorn fajita strips!

  1. pre-heat the oven and put a pizza tray in to warm up.
  2. put SMASH into a bowl and slowly add water - make it as thick as possible...could always add some herbs to the base or some garlic.
  3. take pizza tray out of oven and spray with fry-light.
  4. using your hands spread SMASH out onto the pizza tray, but don't press down too hard.
  5. put in the oven for 7-10 minutes
  6. take out of oven, turn SMASH base over and put back in over for a further 7-10 minutes to crisp the other side.
  7. remove from oven and leave to cool slightly.
  8. bung all other ingrediants on and leave in the oven until cheese has melted.
  9. eat the whole bloody thing to yourself!

Some people like the Smash pizza bases but I dont personally - I prefer to use a thin tortilla wrap - Weight Watchers ones are 5 syns and pretty big (about 8 inches)

Another option some people use is pitta bread (Co-op and Asda versions are 1 HEXB)

There are also recipes for rosti-style potato bases and cauliflower bases if you search.

i use Tesco's flat bread (bit dough like naan bread) - 8.5 syns, bake it on its own for couple mins to crisp up then top with toms, onions, mushrooms, peppers & HEX A or B cheese (21g mozzerella & 21g low fat cheese) & bake
Delicious x

I like the smash pizza. The trick is to get the base as thin as you can so it goes crispy rather than doughy.

I also use passatta (or some chopped tomatoes whizzed up in the blender) as a base. Even hubby ate it! :):p

Smash is instant potato. You can get supermarket own brands or there's one called Mr Mash. I think it might be with the supernoodles and pasta and sauces in the supermarket.

Dont mean to sound stupid but can you just use normal mash potato (obvs with no butter etc added) or does the smash hold
together better or something??
