QUARK - any substitutes?

johnboy
i have 2 supermarkets near to where i live and neither seem to stock quark.
Is there any substitute or not?

I suppose it depends what you were planning on using it for? You can use fromage frais or natural yoghurt in sauces. Natural or greek yoghurt might be a substitute in certain sweet dishes.

I was wondering that too. My oh really doesn't like quark not even hidden in recipes. I've tried! Lol I think I'll try fromage frais he likes that so that should be a safe bet

quark

Hi, go to big Sainsbury's stores they have it. Unfortunately staff doesn't know what it is, so check close to the cottage cheese.
Good luck! ;)

sainsburys never have it on shelf where we live, its always empty and they never have any in the back.
Ive even been up wakefield today, called in at morrisons and guess what empty shelf, grrrrr.

Its mainly for dessert things to add sweetener to like cake middles and in say lemon pie etc, might go open a quark shop lol.
