Question About Ketosis slightly confused

Hi everyone just a quick question. This is my second day on the Cambridge Diet Sole Source. I was previously on the diet and it took me 3-4 days to get into ketosis. There have not even been 2 days passed yet and i just used a ketosis strip to determine whether or not i was in it yet. I got a positive result telling me that i am showing traces of ketosis which i am obviously delighted about. The thing i cant urstand though is that i ate like a pig the few days before i went on it. 2 hrs later i tested again and got a negative result so dont quite understand. I did however drink lots of boiling water and tap water (without any flavourings). My question is will the amount of water i have drank dilute my ketosis so to speak. I also recently started smoking again, i know this is a nasty habbit but it stops my cravings especially within the first week. Does smoking speed up your metabolism making you go into ketosis quicker than normal?

I do know that the amount of water u drink can dilute the result hun not sure about the smoking thing??? I ate a few bad things few weeks ago and thought for sure id have nbeen knocked out of ketosis but was still in it think i have a high tolorance of carbs??

the best time to check for ketosis is 1st thing in the morning as its more concentrated,when you drink alot of water it does dilute the ketones and it won`t read on the stick.hope that helps,
