Hi again,
I'm working nights this week and needed a boost so i decided to buy red bull sugar-free. Its said 0 carbs. Then being curious i went on to the website and it told me that it has an ingredient that is a carb here is what it said.
GLUCURONOLACTONE

Glucuronolactone is a carbohydrate.
It is naturally occurring in the human body where it is involved in detoxification processes, supporting the body in eliminating waste substances from the body.

Glucuronolactone is also present in different foodstuffs such as grain or red wine.

Anyone any ideas is this a hidden carb? How do I know what i can take if the can is telling me 0 carbs?

I have emailed red bull and am waiting for a reply!
Any ideas?

I thought we'd had this post already mate?

Dont know but I do know it has so much caffiene in it i would leave my sleepless!

Here is what redbull told me:

Glucuronolactone is classified as a carbohydrate because of its chemical structure. However, it is not metabolised like a carbohydrate and therefore does not deliver any calories. Normally, carbohydrates provide calories, Glucuronolactone does not. Therefore, we declare "carbohydrate 0 g" in the nutrition facts as glucuronolactone does not have any nutritional value. The declaration is correct and accepted world-wide.

Hmm, that's interesting. Still not for me though, I get hyper after 1 small cup of coffee these days.
