Round 2 of atkins

    HI everyone, my long story cut short is that last year I did the lipotrim diet where I went from 14st8 to 10st9, I then come off lipotrim and immediately put a stone back on so not being able to afford lipotrim I chose Atkins as seemed like the same type of thing ( ketosis wise) and you get to set which is also a bonus. I lost 6lb with Atkins in a week but none the 4 weeks after that so I got annoyed and stopped. I'm up to almost 13 stone now and I want to do something about it ( not just because it's January) before it gets out of control and I'm back to where I was.
    So I think I must have gone wrong somewhere last time because I wasn't over on carbs but maybe I wasn't eating enough fat and protein? I don't know but I'm going to give it another go.
    Good luck to all the other starters, restarters and maintainers hope all is going well!!
    Day 1 and stuck to it so far but absolutely starving - bring on the ketosis !

    Hi Emmy and good luck. I'm on day 3 and not found it too bad although I haven't stuck strictly to induction food today (I just ate sausages with mushrooms and cream and I think the 4 sausages alone had about 20g carbs oops). Anyway, as Katie said as long as you stick strictly to the induction foods you'll be absolutely fine x

    I ate sausages aswell! Had no idea we couldn't eat them, sayin that they were very low carb ones but I've ate a lot of baby bels which probably isn't good, I'm sticking to it tho. I'm going for a family meal at the Indian on Saturday does anyone know if I'm allowed to eat anything? I wondered about chicken tika pieces with salad?

    Sausages fine as long as they are low carb ones - they were my snack of choice yesterday too:)

    Thank you, I've woken up really unwell today, got really bad head ache, feel sick, weak and shaking all over is that to do with atkins or am I just ill? - not sure but it's horrible, I never get ill really

    Hi Emmy, that sounds exactly like Atkins flu - hang in there & what ever you do dont eat carbs! But do look after yourself: rest, take paracetamol, drink lots of water

    I recommend chicken stock as a warming drink (check labels as always) plus eat as much induction food as you like.

    Unfortunately this shows waht carb withdrawal is like - i've got a headache myself:(. But looking at beginning of my diary it was really bad when i started!

    Hope you are feeling better trust me stick to it and you will feel fab in no time. I went through the same last week but feel good now ! ( apart from usual cold)
    I have found this time on Atkins I'm not losing anywhere near as fast with weight but I'm.persevering and getting there slowly. Don't give up if you don't see the scales move. Maybe change things around a little and move more :)

    Thanks girls I feeling better now but still craving chocolate or at least something with sugar.
    Your right about the scales they Havn't moved much so I really could do with some exercise

    How are you getting on Emma? My breakfasts have been mainly spinach omelettes with a sprinkling of cheese on the top.

    I'm getting on ok thanks Sam, don't look like I've lost anything yet but going to weigh myself tomorrow, it's really hard to keep track on carbs even with MFP because I so t really measure the salad just judge it. I had burger and celeriac chips for dinner and it was amazing I love celeriac now x

    It's the best isn't it! Never had it before I tried Atkins. Haven't had it this time round yet, might have some at the weekend.
