Royal Purple's Fresh Confessions- "Restarting On A Fresh Note"

This week has been horrible for me. The more I get lenient on myself, the farther I let myself go, and the more weight I put on. I haven't taken my weight, but I wouldn't be surprised if I gained everything I have lost over the last 2 weeks.

I'd really love to give up, but I know I just can't be happy until I've lost all my excess fats. I really hate myself for being so weak and having such a lack of willpower but I'm going to try again this time round, and do my best to stick to it.

Will check in tomorrow morning again after I've taken my weight.

You Go Girl. Don't beat yourself up for beaing weak, you have done amazingly well to start the diet and now you have decided to draw a line under your bad week you shouldn't even think about it anymore.

Stay positive and remember that you CAN do it!

Wrap-up of Day 1

Today was abit messy if you ask me. I had my morning shake, and then for lunch I had abit of chicken and broccoli. Got really hungry in the afternoon so I had some chocolate with ricecrackers which is such a big sin I know. Even worse, in the evening, I totally heck-cared everything and went for a orange muffin. :(

I tried to make up for it by going off to the gym in the evening and worked out on the cross-trainer for about an hour. Really hope I don't put on weight or anything. Will check in bout the whole weight thing tomorrow.

I know I'm not supposed to be checking in on my weight every single day, but I'm just feeling pretty dejected right now. I really shouldn't have gone on that massive binge on Sunday thinking that I'm starting on CD the next day and everything will be fine. Clearly, nothing is, and the weight I put on from that horrible weekend-binge just adds on to demotivate me from sticking to CD.

:sigh: Just hope I'll do better tomorrow.

Water--The Fat-burning Liquid

Copied from Icemoose...

Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat.

Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits.

Here's why: the kidneys can't function properly without enough water. When they don't work to capacity, some of their load is dumped onto the liver. One of the liver's primary functions is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body. But if the liver has to do some of the kidneys’ work, it can't operate at full throttle, so it metabolizes less fat. As a result, more fat remains stored in the body and weight loss comes to a stop.

Drinking enough water is the best treatment for fluid retention.
When the body gets less - water, it perceives it as a threat to survival and begins to hold on to every drop. Water is stored in extracellular spaces (outside the cells) and shows up as swollen feet, legs and hands.

Diuretics offer a temporary solution, at best. They force out stored water along with some essential nutrients. Again, the body perceives a threat and will replace the lost water at the first opportunity. Thus, the condition quickly returns.

The best way to overcome the problem of water retention is to give your body what it needs - plenty of water! Only then will stored water be released.

The overweight person needs more water than the thin one.

Larger individuals have larger metabolic loads. Since we know that water is the key to fat metabolism, it follows that the overweight person needs more water.

Water helps maintain proper muscle tone by giving muscles their natural ability to contract and by preventing dehydration.

It also helps to prevent the sagging of skin that usually follows weight loss. Shrinking cells are buoyed by water, which plumps the skin and leaves it clear, healthy and resilient.

Water helps the body get rid of waste.

During weight loss, the body has a lot more waste to get rid of - all that metabolized fat must be shed. Again, adequate water helps flush out the waste.

Water can help relieve constipation.

When the body gets too little water, it siphons what it needs from internal sources. The colon is one of these primary sources. Result - constipation. But, when an individual drinks enough water, normal bowel function usually returns.

So far, we’ve discovered some remarkable truths about water and weight loss:

· The body will not function properly and can’t metabolize stored fat efficiently without enough water.
· Retained water shows up as excess weight.
· To get rid of water, you must drink more water.
· Drinking water is essential to weight loss.

How much water is enough?

On average, a person should drink eight 8-oz. glasses every day.

However, the overweight individual needs one additional glass for every 25 pounds of excess weight.

The amount you drink should also be increased if you exercise briskly or if the weather is hot and dry.

It is preferable to drink cold water, which is absorbed into the system more quickly than warm water.

Some evidence suggests that drinking cold water can actually help burn more calories.

My recommendation to clients is 4 litres for ladies and 6 litres for bigger guys.

When the body gets the water it needs to function optimally, its fluids are perfectly balanced and:
· Endocrine-gland function improves
· Fluid retention is alleviated
· More fat is used as fuel because the liver is free to metabolize stored fat
· Natural thirst returns
· There is a loss of hunger, almost overnight

Feeling motivated to drink more already...

Say Goodbye Even If It's A Pound of Fat

Hello, do you know me?
If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why?

It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat.

Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." (as if that were such a terrible thing!)

For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!!

After all, I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!

Hi Royal Purple, I hope that all is OK with you. You really shouldn't get yourself down. I think there comes to a point in everyones life when they just know that everything is going to be alright and that this time, it's really going to work. If you are not emotionally prepared for the journey, there's no point in beating yourself up about it, you'll get to that point one day!
