Shall I eat more syns?

Hi all,

Im now into my 8th week on SW. I'm only 1.5lbs away from my first stone but the last 2 weeks Ive been good but not done well.

I barely use my syns at all, maybe 5/6 a week! I just never feel I need them.

Does anyone think maybe this week if I was to have some syns everyday it could trick my body & give me a good loss??!

A friend said maybe my body is too used to me being 'good'.

You really should be having all your syns each week. 10 per day (70 a week) You are depriving your body of some of the things it needs. The same thing applies for your healthy extra's. make sure you're having those as well.

Thanks Annie. I'm def ok with my healthy extras. I think when it comes to syns my mind must be thinking that if I dont have them surely I'll do better, maybe not?

I would suggest have your 70 a week, as other wise your body will think your starving your self from the things you need.

Also - when you get nearer to your target weight (sorry I have no idea how much you want to lose or how far your are from target) you will find your weight loss slowing and even plateau-ing a bit so you MAY need to cut down on syns - if you currently aren't having many syns at all then further down the line you won't have anything to cut back on so it would therefore really help you (in view of the future) to have your daily syns....

You are allowed 15 syns a day - that's 105 a week so if you dont want to use them daily (if as you say you dont have the need) then maybe you could 'save' them for a meal out? Indian or Chinese or some other 'treat' meal you enjoy?

Completely agree with Rachella, I had to cut down to 5 a day as I got closer to target as I was struggling. If you only have 5 a day, it doesn't give you much to play with. Have a few more, it won't hurt your losses.

Im almost at a stone but Ive got another 3 to go so quite a way off my target yet. I'll try to syn more now & hopefully I'll start to lose well again & hopefully syning more now will help in the long-run too.
I agree, you do need to be eating some syns, probably more than you are doing. There are lots of foods you can do this with, if you don't want to eat say chocolate.

I've started to have more red wine (5 syns) and olive oil (2 syns a teaspoon) as the doctor told me my good cholesterol is too low, so definitely use all your syns, at least until you get nearer target. Good luck!
