Sharon's Before 50 Plan

Thanks Crispy :)

Still off today with virus and now on Benyllin flu/cold capsules - I will be back at work on Mon. Had yummy brekkie today Tescos Healthy choice Cumberland sausages, 2 eggs cooked in microwave egg cookers (they only take about 40-50 secs so great for egg on toast on busy work days too, slice Bach bread HEX, tomatoes and 1 tbsp tomato sauce - 1 syn :). Decided I'd have a treat brekkie but all counted - those sausages are sooo low in syns :) Lunch is all planned - small portion of pasta with homemade pasta sauce with various veg in. Diet coke chicken, fry light roasties and broccoli for tea.

Shopping done and the SW I-phone app came in useful in Asda to check out some syn values. Discovered the Black Tower B wine is low cal (55 cals/125 ml)/syns (5.5 syns for 250 mls) -- 5% vol - mini bottle is 250 ml bottle. It does come in larger bottles but if you want to limit yourself the mini bottles are a good idea (it comes in white, red or rose) - not tried it yet but later lol 250 mls of standard red wine is 8.5 syns - I know this from when I indulged in a large glass at the beach pub last weekend :)

Ok wine review - soft fruity light wine, personally I prefer a fuller bodied oaky wine so would prob opt for 8.5 syn one or me, having said that if syns are tight it's a good compromise. Prob worth anyone who likes a rose or white too trying them to see what you think.

Dinner is Beef in Blackbean from the SW Asian cookbook - had an issue with finding dried fermented black beans (looked in Asda, Aldis and Tescos) so added a bit more Blackbean sauce - Amoy 125 g sachet - 4.5. Syns so added an extra 1.25 syns to the one syn it would have been. Can recommend this dish :). If your following SW I cannot recommend this cookbook enough. Hubby actually took the cooking on this tonight and is loving all the varied recipes we've been having.

Feeling much better from the virus as the day has gone on and even managed to turn out 3 bags off clothes for the cancer research drive at SW classes - being collected at class next week. More wardrobe sorting to do but it's a good start and a good cause.

Well today we cooked (yes hubby helping today again) turkey risotto - recipe from SW recipe site although the amount of stock on the recipe is wrong, you need more like 1.2 life's not 1.5 pints so do adjust if you make it up, and also sticky sesame chicken from the Asian cookbook, and had a portion of green broccoli. Really nice recipes. Cooked brekkie first thing using Tescos Cumberland healthy choice which are only 0.5 syns. Ooo and I found a really useful gadget bought on Ebay which cores and slices fresh pineapple, only cost £3.45 and works quite well so will be taking advantage of pineapple offers :) Back to work tomorrow.

Ooh, I eat pineapple every day, but I buy it pre-prepared from Tesco which works out quite costly, so maybe I should look into getting something like that. :) xx

Mine was a cheapie but was v effective when we gave it it's first trial run earlier today. Oh and Aldis have pineapples on offer currently at 69p each :)

Ooh, I do love my pineapple, and it's supposed to be very good for you too. If I've got a few extra calories I pour a Shape yogurt over it, yummy! :) xx

Cooked the Lemon chicken tonight from the Asian SW cook book - strong lemon taste but hubby and I really like it :). Tried quite a few new recipes this week so might go back to a few I've already done next week - so much to choose from! I always find planning meals or the week and then doing the shopping list really helps keep me on track. Weigh in tomorrow night but I'm in this for the long haul and as much as possible before my 50th birthday March 2014 I like this little quote I've uploaded Weigh night tomorrow at class..... Monthly due but if it doesn't show this week there should be a loss next as long as I keep my halo aloft and not play hoola hoop with it or wear it as an ankle bracelet :)

Ok so weigh in fine - 0.5 lbs off so 12.5 total now, monthly due so I guess I shouldn't be too disheartened, I know I've been good, so stick with it and hopefully get the stone award next week.

Well done, you're get close to that stone mark now, yay! :) xx

Well done Sharon Youre so near your first stone That's brilliant I was down 10 lbs altogether last week but I had a crappy week so I'm up 2 lbs now but I've my friends wedding next week so I'm trying to be good now and I'm hoping I'll be down 3 lbs by then Will keep you posted :)

Hi Crispy - I'm sure you can soon turn it around, just don't let it damage things from here because of guilt, we're human and things happen x you're doing great so, don't let a blip ruin the rest of the week - sounds like you have a very special event next week :)

I'm hanging in there on the plans. Just cooked the SW Asian cookbook Malaysian chicken and red pepper curry tonight (hubby did most of the cooking tonight actually) :) - it's a fab recipe. Bought myself a bottle of Tia Maria as 25ml is 3.5 syns and some zero coke. Can have that sometimes as a weekend treat and save on the syns compared to my usual 250ml red wine, or have two drinks for slightly less syns than the one large glass of wine - will last quite a while as it's a 750 ml bottle and was only 2.70 more than the 350 ml bottle. I have a proper jigger (spirit measure) at home so can avoid whoops doubles with free hand measures :) - determined this weight is going to go but also know it's important to allow some treats as it's going to take time with so much to lose.

Lifestyle change and choice power as opposed to just willpower.

Good luck this week Crispy.

Ooh yes, you need treats for sure! I've just had a chunky kit kat with my coffee whilst watching Eurovision - Kathryn is miffed because I'm not stuffing my face with pizza, crisps and huge amounts of chocolate like I always used to when we watched it, lol. She's still had a pizza and a big bag of Revels! :) xx
