Slimming world magazine 7 day plan

    So ... I tried SW about 4 years ago , and suffice to say didn't get my head into it !!!

    Decided to have another bash , and started with a low cost trial, buying the latest mag as it has a 7 day trial.

    Couple of questions ,

    Can I mix up the daily menus or are the combinations meant to stay together ( as in the old green and red days etc) ?

    Also will I slow my weight loss if I don't have syns ?

    Last one , does anyone combine with fasting ? Had some success with 5:2 wondered if the 2 together were effective ?

    You can combine the plans so that you do an EE day, followed by a Green day, followed by a Red day if you want to - no problems with that.

    You should try and use your syns, they're there to stop you feeling deprived. You don't have to use them for "treats" like sweets or chocolate thogh. I use most of mine to make my meals more interesting - so gravy, proper salad dressing, sauces, more cheese etc. I think the plan says use a minimum of 5 a day, but you can have up to 15 a day. Some people say a max of 10 a day - I think that depends on how much you have to lose.

    Some people on here use a combination of fasting and SW. I wouldn't myself, SW works fine on its own and I do not like being hungry :D

    I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but if you mean, eg, can you take the breakfast from Monday and the lunch from Thursday, etc, then yes you can, but be aware that bread/cereal are Heathy Extras and you're only allowed one A and one B choice per day on Extra Easy (two of each on Red and Green) so just watch out for that.

    Syns are different for everyone, play around with them to find out what suits you, although I have to say, I don't think I'd last long on the plan without using my syns. You can do whatever you like re- 5:2/fasting, it doesn't have to be rigid, do whatever suits you. Maybe stick to the plan for a few weeks to get an idea of how you're doing without the extra 'starvation', then decide what to do. :)

    Just be aware that if you don't use your syns you will not be following the plan 100%
    The plan is made up of 3 components, free food, Healthy Extras and Syns, why is there any need to cut one of these out? The plan works, trust it :)

    Thanks for your replies , I think I'm making sense of it and so far so good !!

    i think you are all correct having the syns Defo helps !! I'm a wine lover I ve been buying 2 of thd 175ml bottles so I have exact amounts and I'm happy with that

    Feeling positive and I think that's always a good start , will probably join a class next week but wanted to just give it trial myself first.

    Minimins is a great place to share x
