This ketosis/smelly breath thing..... my counsellor said I cannot chew gum or have any type of mint. Is that right?

I'm already self conscious about how awful I look, I don't think I can deal with stinking as well.

    Sorry for all the questions.....

Chewing gums and mints will make you feel hungry, that's why they're not allowed. Why don't you try a mouth freshening spray instead? I'm really lucky, I don't get the ketosis breath, I just suffer with a really sweet taste in my mouth all the time. My CDC says this is my version of the bad breath.

You could also try making some cold peppermint tea and using that as a flavouring for your water; I love it and it might help.

What about extra mints. They are sugar and citric acid free. My counsellor suggested that the odd one wont hurt.
