which my brother had paid for, since my brother see's him and he was a little concerened about my diet.

So there I was thinking that I would get an ear bashing about how bad this diet is.

So I took the trip to London, went and met him and after about an hour of questions about my lifestyle etc etc.. something totally bizarre happened..

HE SAID I SHOULD STAY ON CAMBRIDGE!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOO.

This nutirionilist advises the England Rugby team.. and if his word is good enough for them... it sure is good enough for me!

He said I should try and get a little more protien in my salad (im on ss plus) and he says that I am deficient in fat (ironic moment for someone to tell me i am defficiant in fat!) So he said i could do with eating oily fish as my protein.

Anyways here is the good bit, he said that once I Come off cambridge that i could stay in ketosis without it being a detriment to my health. I.e just avoiding the bad carbies! He said there are different levels of ketosis and im probably in deep! but i could be in ketosis following the diet, which for me is the best news ive heard in ages! I know it sounds strange but i love love love ketosis, the no hunger thing is the reason I can survive this diet.

he said quite a few atheletes are in ketosis or do a ketosis cycle which means they do ketosis mon-fri and have weekends off.
He said it is a very efficient way of burning energy, but i do have to be careful and make sure i get a lot of calcium suppliment.

So this is great, a nutirilonist that UNDERSTANDS me and my needs, understands my weight battle and why I fear coming off cd and someone who will be there to help me step off the plan (which I will not be doing until after xmas)

So yay... now I can handle all objections from people that say it is not healthy )

That's good to know - did he say the reason for needing the calcium supplement?

yeah, he was very very technical and knew a LOT about ketosis, but from my little science brain i understood it in that when you are in ketosis the body is not taking the energy from carbs, it is taking it from your fat stores, but in doing so your fat does not always have everything you need, so sometimes it will take a little bit of minerals from your bones, so its nothing to worry about just better to have extra calcium than not!

    Hi Helen,
Well done you for attending. Must be difficult to have gone, not knowing what to expect and half expecting a negative response. The fact that it was so very positive is just amazing. Thanks for sharing with us, its so useful to have 'professional' feedback to use to combat all the sceptics out there. I certainly will kepp this post and probably drag it out in the future.
    Your brother happier now?!!!

Yes fantastic news...deep down i think we all knew it really but is nice to hear from a professional. my main reason for having faith in CD is that I feel (generally) so well on it bearing in mind the small number of calories we are having, and i can only put that down to the vitamins and minerals in the food packs. When other low calorie diets have left me feeling rough and sluggish and other ketosis diets like atkins made me feel like id been smacked over the head by a hangover all the time! Thank you for sharing more positivity about it though i will quote you when i get the negative comments!!

    Well, that's good news. :D

Last time I was on CD, I got so sick of well-meaning people telling me how dangerous it was, and how I should do a 'sensible' diet (LOL, like I've never tried that before...).

Can't wait to get started again and watch those pounds roll off!

At least now i can show them this and it will hopefully shut them up.
