Social life & Lipotrim..

Well.. I think i'm going to have to pack away my social life for a few months to stick at this diet..

What do you all think, have you all managed to continue on your social life with lipotrim and avoid all temptation?? xx

Avoiding the temptation is easy - the hardest part is to explain to the people that you can have fun without food or drink by enjoying the time spent together. I hate people who can't accept the fact that I have decided to do something with my life.

Whenever I go out, it's either for dinner or drinks... haha maybe I need to take up a hobby!

Took the words right out my mouth. I had doubts as to whether I would continue the lipotrim once I go on holiday because everyone is just gonna think I'm weird for doing this and urge me to eat because "I'm on holiday." But whatever man. I know why I'm doing and if they don't like it? they can lump it! It's only food for goodness sake. I'm not gonna keel over and die if I don't have a piece of chicken or slice of cake right away. lol

I'm really going to need to do things other than eating a drinking!! hmm how am i going to fill this void!!

I made the decision early on that I wasn't going to let Lipotrim turn me into a recluse. I was up front with my friends about it (why be otherwise... their support makes things easier) and I told them that I would still go out with them and still party with them... I would just be the designated driver until I got to my goal weight.

I found that I saved a tonne of money (water is free in the pubs I go in) and I also got petrol money from the girls I partied with for dropping them home. Be honest as well if you are missing out on lunch dates and things... tell your friends you are dieting... not stricken down with the lurgy and that they needed exclude you.

I also found cafe's and bars to be really understanding if I was with a group of people who were all eating. I would just ask if they were ok with me having my shake whilst my friends ate and I was always told it was fine.

Thanks Caz, i'm worried that if i go out with friends for drinks or dinner that i wont be able to resist so at the moment whilst i'm just starting i've decided to refuse all invites for dinner and drinks..just incase! I really dont trust myself! Instead there are a few films i want to see at the cinema, going to buy some new books and having a pamper night in with my friends tomorrow! I'm avoiding eating and drinking events at all costs.. may sound drastic but i just know ill gobble up something!

I'm just getting ready to go out now, and I'm going to have soda water with ice. I enjoy socialising with my family & friends so as long as I can have something I'll be ok. I know its not the same as a bottle of gallo white grenache ( my fav) but it will do. I'm taking my car so will run them all home later. Arn't I good?

Sess... its whatever works for you but don't let the diet turn you into a hermit. Its a hard diet to follow and doing it alone makes it harder... reach out for support from your friends if you need it. I learnt that my friends didn't want to invite me places because they were worried about my diet. I wanted to be as normal as possible... and facing my demons (food) in the face.. and proving to myself I could do it... makes me feel great.

Babyonion... watch the soda water... you shouldn't be drinking it if you're on Lipotrim. Soda water is different to carbonated water... the soda actually makes you retain water... which isn't what you want. However some people on here have drunk soda water throughtout their diet and have still lost, so what the pharmacist says might not always be right. And... its better than the Gallo!

Maybe once i'm in ketosis i'll be in a better place to be able to keep in control!

and thanks for the soda water tip.. i just assumed sparkling and soda were the same!

Well went to a friend's house tonight who is also on a diet, watched a film, occupied ourselves pampering with face masks.. Until another 'friend' turns up, wants to order a takeaway, we say we don't want one and stay strong but she keeps going on.. 'are you sure? i'll order u something, go on you've got to have a treat day' oh my god why are my friends so unsupportive!!!! I had to leave before it was delivered so that I couldn't give in to temptation! Arrrghhh!

It's so annoying when you're trying so hard and are so weak!!
'you've got to have a treat day' ..... i've only been on the diet 2 days!!!

It's all those treat days that got us here in the first place !!

Anyway that's day 1 over for me and despite my kitchen just flooding I didn't run for a bar of chocolate, bring it on day 2!!

Exactly!! I think i've had enough treat days to last me a lifetime!!! Well done on surviving day one!

I'm starting tomorrow and right now I'm in a hotel room with my two friends snoring their heads off after a day at a spa and a night on the tiles and I have to say, I had a great time but I spend the night in the club eyeing up slim girls outfits and stilletos and planning what to wear when I've lost the weight, also I missed my 2 month old baby really desperately so I think its a perfect time to start for me and my friends and boyfriend are sooo supportive, I know there will be plenty of cinema trips, days out, walks etc ahead :) can't wait to join you all!

That's exactly how I feel! Just think, a few months hard work and determination will all be worth it when we're one of those slim girls in great outfits!... Can't wait! Good luck on starting the diet! :)

Good luck for your 1st weigh in, let us all know how it goes!
