Social Life Sabotage?

    Hi everyone
    Im coming up to a week or two of a few socials at work (people leaving or meet ups of old teams) and these traditionally revolve around the pub and a lot of drink - its one of those jobs!
    My big worry is that Im going to end up sabotaging myself, I have already worked out if I drink a jd with a diet mixer its a lot less sins but I find it impossible to go out on a proper social and not have a drink (and I cant use the I have the car excuse as they are straight from work)
    I dont want to be a party pooper but also dont want to undo what I have managed to do so far!
    How do you cope with the social situations????

    I have this problem too! I find that if you try and take it really easy on sins the days you are not socialising, it's do-able. If you're a choccy fiend like me then swap your normal "chocolate fix" for a hi-fi bar or two, just use them as B choices. Obviously it's not the healthiest option to have 2x Hi-Fi's everyday but on weeks like this I think it's perfectly acceptable. This way, it free's up alot more sins for your alcohol and you're less likely to go over. Another tip would be to make a nice big SW curry some sort of free meal for when you come home, if you're anything like me you will be staaaaarving after a few drinky-poo's! If you do this you're less likely to make a bee line for the nearest pizza place as you have something nice to look forward to. I generally do save quite alot of my sins for a drink at the weekend anyway and have lost everyweek (touch wood) since I joined SW 5 weeks ago. I've always enjoyed a drink on a Friday or Saturday night, this is my lifestyle and as SW is not a diet but a plan for life this is how I've adapted it to suit me. My final two tips would be to go for a spirit and diet mixer (just keep a tally of how many you're having in a little notebook in your bag!) and finally up your exercise slighty before and after your night out to shift any excess.

    How about being honest? Alternatively could you be on some kind of medication. Make sure that you mention it to a couple of people beforehand! Sneaky!

    They all know Im doing SW but yes drinking is a normal part of my life & though its not all the time I have been using up sins on wine at the weekends lol. Will try the upping excercise on the days around it too, thanks for that idea!
    Most of my work mates know Im doing SW as I decided that when Im close to needing some junk they can help out by throwing an orange at me!!!!
    I just know that if I have say 2 drinks on a night like this and then stop, I will feel deprived and then blow it, as for the junking out after a drink thankfully I have never been a kebab fiend and generally just get home and sleep but I have had a mission this week and made casseroles and soups and chillis for the freezer so I will have some backup food if I need it :)

    Have a soft drink in between. If you are having JD and diet coke then have 1 of those and 1 normal diet coke this way no-one will probably even notice and you drink 1/2 the amount!! Try and stay out of the 'rounds' situation as you normally end up drinking more and you can get your diet cokes so no-one will no if you dont want them to.

    oooh good point pesty - yep there is always a whip so I'll remember to opt out of that and then I wont feel like I have to get my moneys worth! Liking the hidden soft drink too lol, Im starting to feel like I wont sabotage myself now, really appreciate all the advice & ideas :D

    i used to work in a pub and alot of people would ask for the drink in a large glass so friends wouldnt notice or just ask for a drink in the small glasses that we would serve a spirt in, if you can explain to the bar staff that way they know what you are doing, but avoid jack as it comes up with a froth as it is a dark spirit, remember you can have upto 15 syns a week, so that is 6 x 25ml measures, which is a normal measure

    i know for some reason i put in week rather than day, was thinking 70 per week, my old class there were girls that counted down rather than day to day
