Sometimes calories "don't count"

Minerva

...we're sinking deeper.
Metabolisation and energy release of different food varies; KD has long since done research on the amazing properties of almonds... and I think this article summarises a few brief points quite well!

This rhetoric I think can be applied to other foods as well. More of a raw vegetable is more likely to 'pass' through the system (due to their fibre content) rather than more easily digestible mushily cooked vegetable. Same as a boiled potato will release it's energy more slowly than a potato puree.

So I suppose - calories should be taken at face value... more of a 'guideline' to a rough estimate. Always take into account what it is you're eating as well! :p It pays to make the healthier choice.

makes perfect sense really - and i love almonds so all good news!
