Soup for slimming

I heard that soup is thought to be one of the best foods for a slimmer as it makes us feel fuller for longer, so to that end, would it not make sense to eat a bowl full or two of say vegetable soup before eating lunch and dinner? I would have thought that if you feel full then you aren't going to consume as much of the lunch or dinner, and by default you have got to loose a bit more weight. Is this over slimplifying it? Getting headache mulling it over lol.

I never have soup when I go out for a meal as I'm too full after my main course, so yes in theory you're right. But it would add to the wind problem in our house, which is bad enough as it is  I tend to make soup for lunch at the weekend when I don't need as much to eat to keep me going. But have it! It's on the plan!

I always have soup before my evening meal, but it's just a habit I suppose as I have always done it, maybe I should start having it at lunchtime for a change...
