Spatz Gastric Balloon 10th March 2017

Been reading here a bit, nervously, now taken the plunge and signed up.

I'm having a Spatz gastric balloon inserted tomorrow. I really intend and want this to be a serious change in my life, my body.

I'm 5 ft 7, and 19 stone 1olb.

Today! I've had blood tests (awaiting results) and urine tests (but banned from drinking, that was tricky) and had a tap put in my left hand.

Starting weight this morning highly than I thought (but being trying not to think...) 20 stone 2 lb

Well, that was an epic fail. Not the doctor or hospital's fault, they were lovely. I had the whole thing done, canula in, blood tests and urine tests fine, everything hunky dory. Sedation went ahead. Then a bit later, the doctor was explaining to me why she couldn't do the balloon - I have a stomach ulcer. So instead of the balloon I have the sore throat from the endoscopy, the bruises from blood tests and a fistful of anti-acids for the ulcer!

Pretty disappointing, though. All hyped up, made the decision, booked time off work, arrived there, blood tests, urine test, sedation....

Then nothing. I feel a bit of an anti-climax. All dressed up and nowhere to go.

Hadn´t the ulcer given you pain ?
