Plan plan plan.

Be prepared, have lots of protein options on hand for your first few days.
Whilst on attack don't worry about quantity.
Your appetite will quickly decrease.

Have a look around we have recipes and daily menus and tip threads.

Welcome, good luck.

How many days of attack?

Hi and welcome!

Have you been on the official site to get your 'true' weight and the number of days on attack?

Don't forget your daily oatbran on attack (1 1/2 tbs) and then once on cruise you can add in wheatbran (1 tbs per day) and increase the oatbran to 2 tbs.

OK, from experience -

If possible, get rid of all non-Dukan foodstuff. If you have a family to consider, then I'd separate your food if you can so they don't pinch yours and you're not tempted to dip into theirs;).

At least 1 1/2 litres of water a day, you'll feel rough if you don't drink enough.

No more than 2 egg yolks per day although whites are unlimited.

Have stocks of protein so that you're not caught short (tinned tuna/crab/prawns and plenty of eggs in the fridge).

Dairy is limited to 1 kilo/max/day (skimmed milk, muller light flavoured yogurts - think vanilla ones are OK, 0% fromage frais, etc) although less is better (and milk up to 250 ml to be taken from your total dairy allowance).

Have a good look at the recipes on here and elsewhere, will stop you getting bored.

Good luck!

thanks for your lovely replies. I'm hoping that this forum will support me through the long and challenging times ahead.

Have got quite a lot of weight to lose, so 6 days on Attack. Day 1 today though & it seems to have gone well. But I've eaten loads!

Fridge has just packed in which is not good, so will have to buy food every day until the new fridge arrives. Not wanted to be tempted in the supermarket, so will try and go with a list of the few things I need each day. Not what I needed to start though!

thanks again for your lovely welcome and for your support.

Hi, New-Me!

Don't worry about eating loads. I did that too during the first few Attack Days. Still managed to lose 6lbs in 5 days, though. You'll soon find that the protein will start to fill you up and you'll stop feeling so hungry.

Sorry to hear about your fridge. Try and make sure you only visit the supermarket after you've eaten, if you can - it helps to cut down on temptation.

I'm a fairly new member myself and everyone here has been fantastic, so definitely do pop in if you need any advice or support as this forum is such a great help.

Good luck with your weight loss, and I look forward to reading more posts from you.

Sounds like you're doing well, New-Me. The thing that keeps me going is seeing the changes in the mirror every so often - your waist returns, your legs get their shape back, etc. It's such a great encouragement!
