Starting for the first time on Monday!!

Hi all.

I am starting the total solution program on Monday for the first time. I've needed to do something about my weight for a long time now but if I am honest with my self, I have been too lazy. But I am going to turn twenty soon and I don't want to continue my weight gain.

For the past few years when I gain a year in age I gain a stone in weight. And now at 19, being 5ft 10 and weighting 19 stone, I ve had enough!

I have pathetically attempted sliming world in the past but failed. I am doing exante because I need a diet that completely removes me from food for a while so I can re program the way I see food. I am a very emotional eater, it's not how much I eat that is really the problem it's what I eat. And also the fact that I find it hard to eat normally in the day time.

So I hope to loose around 8 stone, but it's more the way I look and feel that matters. I want to be able to walk into any clothes shop and be able to find something that fits. I want to be able to enjoy shopping! And being a performing arts degree student it's about time I get more fit!

So if anyone has any first week advice or tips I would be very grateful! I am also doing this with my mum so you would be helping us both, I'm sure she will be creating her own posts soon too!

Thanks!!!
Trina

Good luck on your journey...and keep chatting to us all on here x

Hi. This is my first time on any forum but have found reading them very supportive in the past. I did the exante diet last year between jan and march and managed to lose 2.5 stone. Since then I've put on 1.5 stone and have struggled to gain enthusiasm to start again but......tomorrow is the day I'm starting again. My enthusiasm is still not great but have ordered a pack of shakes and bars and I'm hoping that this forum will help spur me on and keep me going.

My weight story was at its worst in the year 2000 when I was pregnant and had to be weighed. With hindsight it was probably the best thing that happened to me as I was 135kg and had no idea as I had always avoided being weighed!!!!!!! Even the midwife was shocked. I went off food when I was pregnant and weighed in at 126kg six weeks after my daughter was born. Since then I've yoyo'd my way down to my present weight.

I'm currently 112kg and 5'10 like you Trina. This is the first time I've ever shared my weight with anyone other than a GP/midwife ( that wasn't a choice!!) I weigh myself in kilos as it seems to go down quicker and stones seems scarier!! I tend to give myself small targets to achieve as I need that boost every few weeks, I'm not sure what my target is but probably to get to approx 75kg ? a size 14 ? and then see how I feel. I haven't been a size 14 since I was 16 and that's more than 2 decades ago!!! First target to get under 110kg then to get under 100. I think getting into 2 figures (weight wise) will be a massive achievement for me and something that I have never managed to do.

Good luck to Trina and her mum and everyone who's starting a weight loss journey.

Sarah xx

Hi Trina!

Good luck in your journey!! We are the same height =) and im a little bit older than you so similar goals! I got down to 11st previously and felt great but always found myself maintaining around 12 stone!

Bet you can't wait to get stuck in! I hope you stick at it and find your inner confidence... And doesn't every girl deserve to enjoy shopping??

Best of luck to you and your mum

Good luck to you too SJ... Another 5ft10 one =) and tall girls are normally few and far between lol x

Day 3... Resisting temptation to weigh myself, keep thinking "this time in a week should be half a stone/ 3 kilos lighter??" Fingers are crossed. Keep going everyone, this time in 3 wks everyone will notice a massive difference in how they look and feel.....it's hard to get started but once you lose even a kilo you'll feel great. Lets do it together....if you feel hungry drink a pint of water, do a little job (empty the dishwasher etc) and hopefully pang has gone. Xx

Well done so far...I am sure that you will have a successful journey. I am very jealous that you are all 5ft 11in. I am height challenged at 5ft 2in. Have a great day tomorrow x

5'10 shrimp, but still pretty tall:) All going pretty well here and managing to get some exercise in too. Going to a friends birthday meal tomorrow so I'm a little worried about that. Will have a small portion of something good and then straight back to it on Sunday. X

Good idea...as long as you come back Sunday I am sure you will be fine. I have to do that avert now and then. Think that is way I have not had big weight loss. But I socialise quiet a lot with work (4days next week) all work events. But every meal I can get away with bars and shakes I do, then just go small and sensible at an event. No one even has noticed yet!
