Step 3 anyone?

I've returned and on step 3, how do you find the losses on this?
Also I understand the shake, 1/2 pint of skimmed and 150 kcal brekkie, the shake and salad lunch and the dinner - but what I don't understand is can i have a piece of fruit after dinner?
My CDC just said I can have one piece of fruit from the list for a snack in the day or if I use one of the book recipes I can have a piece after, but she hasn't been clear wether I can have it after a non recipe meal? - hope that makes sense?!
