Steps In The Right Direction...86.6lbs Lost Fasting

Have a great time in Belfast. Are you meeting up with Kittty? I bet you two would have a blast out on the town. ;)

She has more important people to meet ;-)

Ah, Hotbuns. Yes. LOL. TBH I had assumed she was going to be in NI for longer but I then noticed she mentions picking Gavin up tomorrow morning so I guess it's just a flying visit. Maybe next time.

Hope your having a great time! Can't wait to hear your update when you return! And also all these new concoctions with the nutribullet! Xxx

Quick question before i do a proper catch up. My legs and ankles are super swollen and sore. Have never had this before :( I did a lot of walking, sitting in car and couple of flights in past few days...it was also boiling hot and I know I didn't drink nearly enough. I'm drinking plenty today but am seriously on the verge of taking painkillers cause my legs ache so much...is there anything else I can do???

So went to Belfast..looked at houses...boiled to death...stayed an extra night (..at my cousin's ;)!)...went to Bangor...had lunch...flew home. That kind of sums it up! Far too short a trip but also far too hot. None of the places that I looked at were right. It did give me a good idea of areas I'd like to live in though and am definitely making the move. Was nice to spend time with Hotbuns too, it was a bit stressful with the viewings and the heat.. and his speedy city driving manoeuvres that had me squealing at times and hanging on to my seat. We had a good time in Bangor though :) I think it was Belfast's hottest day of the year when I was over  Came home to a furnace of a house and a very naughty puppy. Gavin had been staying at my sister's. Her dog is Gavin's mum so she is well used to puppies and their antics. Well Gavin ended up at the emergency vets on Thursday night. He decided that when she brought the washing in off the line he'd eat a pair of her pants..whole..just swallowed in a oner. Good old M&S sensible sturdy pants :p So a £200 vet bill later and he had been given an injection to sick them up. The vet then asked my sister if she wanted her pants back...she was mortified!! So Gavin is on the naughty step :doggy:

Managed to stick to plan and even managed a fast on Thursday as felt really queasy with the heat. Had a nakd bar when I got there at 8 in the morning and a McDonalds chicken salad for dinner. Friday I had 2 slices of buttered wholemeal toast for breakfast, had pizza and salad when we had lunch out followed by an ice cream with sprinkles and had scrambled eggs on toast when I came in last night with a green smoothie ( avocado, spinach, pineapple and lemon juice) Didn't really intend to be so good as I'm happy to stick with the 80/20 healthy eating and had thought I might have had a few more treats but the heat just killed my appetite...don't worry though I'm sure it will come back!!

Today's food...

Protein shake for breakfast. Cottage cheese, tomatoes, buckwheat crackers and mashed avocado with sea salt, ground black pepper and chilli flakes. I don't get avocado..it doesn't really taste of anything. I keep trying it but really I'm not impressed enough to probably buy one again. Melon and strawberries for a snack mid afternoon. New potatoes with butter, tenderstem broccoli, carrots and baby sweetcorn and M&S lean honey roast ham for dinner. Whole packet of kallo chocolate rice cakes and a wee bar of Green and Black's with a cup of tea. May make a green smoothie before bed..if I can be bothered getting off the couch!

Welcome back! First of all the legs, probably a combination of flying, heat and dehydration. Lie down with them propped up higher than your heart, drink gallons and gallons and they should be fine. If it was just one I'd be concerned but both is probably fine.
I laughed all over again at the retelling of the knicker story, too funny, poor Gavin, and poor sister!!
Pity none of the houses worked out but at least it has helped firm things up in your mind. We'll have another pow wow soon about more houses. And we'll get a coffee next time!!
Really well done on the food front, you've gone all angelic on us. Weight in must be fast approaching...

Hope your legs have improved tomorrow. I always get bad swollen ankles when I fly. Now I always wear those very attractive flying socks. Glad the rest of trip was successful and high five on the food. Love the Gavin and the Knickers story. Can see that as the title of a kids' story book. Like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or James and the Giant Peach. Gavin and the Sensible Sturdy Knickers. Excuse me, I'm off to write a best-seller!! ;)

We'll definitely need to meet up next time. Was really aware of how few people I knew there, didn't know my way about etc so need to make sure I have some form of social life. I'll need to go outside of my comfort zone and..shock horror..socialise  Felt so rushed and was probably mad thinking I'd find somewhere straight away. I would hope it wouldn't be so hot next time! Sitting down tomorrow and going to draw up lists and organise my head a bit. I'll be in touch :D

Well as his agent, what percentage would you be after? I think 10% is the industry standard. LOL. Keep those stories coming. This time next year, Trotter, we could be millionaires.

Hi weebuns, just read through your diary, was looking for some inspiration and that you certainly are! I am amazed at your weight loss, was this all with JUDDD? I am coming off a VLCD and fed up of yoyo-ing throughout my life, having 0 self confidence and just hating myself. Im the worst example to my kids, so I want to restart JUDDD as I don't feel anything else is going to be sustainable for me anymore.
Anyway, I think you're brilliant! X

Thank you x Yes, lost it all through fasting, usually 3 days a week up until recently when I've switched to 2 days. I really can't recommend it highly enough. It has changed my whole outlook on weight loss, healthy eating and dieting in general. I know only too well the feeling of zero confidence when you have a weight problem. The satisfaction I've got at managing the fast days and losing weight has really given me a great boost. And I can honestly see me using fasting to maintain a healthy weight...once I get there!!...for life. The only thing that bugs me when you mention fasting to other people is the idea that some people get that you can eat whatever you want on a non fast day...you can eat any food that you want BUT you can't eat more calories than you need. I think that's why so many people give up. They feel they've earned a pigging out UD because they managed a fast day and get annoyed when the scales don't co-operate...unfortunately fasting isn't a miracle but it is a very good tool when used right for weight loss. If you decide to give it another go you will get plenty of support xx

Erm, I've used today as a pig out day... So wish you'd posted that earlier.... Haha. Oh well... One day won't kill me eeeek. Sounds like you had a lovely time last week and Gavin is hilarious! He needs his own diary lol. Hope the legs are better. Xxx

Thanks hun, that's really encouraged me. I've never felt so low about my weight before, its taking over my whole life. Sorry to be so depressing on your diary! Can I just ask whether you exercised at all? I hate it and would rather start with walking. Also I've set my calorie allowance for up days to maintaining my current weight (something called bmr? Not sure what that all means), it's about 2430cals, is that what u should stick to? Thanks again!!

Legs and ankles still swollen and sore but not nearly as much as yesterday. Drinking loads of water and trying to keep my feet up. Was at sister's for lunch so didn't take pictures...as she would have thought I'd completely lost it  Weigh in next Friday after a month of no scales and no calorie counting or weighing out food. Can't wait to see if it's worked. Slightly anxious as swollen legs made jeans feel tight in parts when I put them on this morning, but are definitely looser at the waist. I do feel far more relaxed and happy not counting every calorie and far less obsessive. I think it depends on your personality though if that kind of thing works for you. As I said I'm doing it with a view to target and beyond where I want to be able to eat freely good healthy foods and maintain my weight.

Pig out days are great occasionally Carrie!! xx It's not like you do it all the time. A splurge now and then I think is good for us and is what "normal" people without weight issues do. It's people who think they can have them every non fast day and still lose weight that I see come and go I was meaning.

Just feeling full and uncomfortable lol. So made myself come upstairs and do hula which is really really uncomfortable. I think you've done amazing wee buns. Your enjoying your food too which always makes something easier to stick to :) thanks hun xxx
