Steps In The Right Direction...86.6lbs Lost Fasting

So I decided to nip things in the bud and went to my gp. I'm suffering from stress, anxiety and depression...never one for doing things by half  And despite some people not agreeing with my choice I've decided to take medication to help. Wanting to curl up in bed all day everyday isn't how I want to be feeling so I'll do what it takes to climb out my black hole. Thanks for all your kind words xx I have still managed my 3 fasts a week although my UDs have been indulgent at times but am really happy to report an 11lb loss since I started back fasting 3 weeks ago. I'm now only 4.2lbs away from my lowest when I first started to go off the rails. My plan is to get back to posting my meals..photos as well :p as I know that making myself be a bit more sociable and interactive will probably do me the world of good. And I'm also back to prove to all the new "fasters" on minis that they haven't reinvented the wheel that some of us have been fasting for a long time now...back when you were ridiculing me for my "fad, unhealthy, starvation diet"...funny how they've forgotten what a stupid diet it is now they are doing it. SW was the ONLY way to eat when I stuck my head above the parapet, remember?? :D Hope to catch up with everyone soon...as does Gavin :doggy:

My darling as someone said to me when I was suffering from depression & worried about taking the meds "if you broke your leg you'd wear the cast & use the crutches right so what's the difference" so well done you for starting the journey to being you again. Lovely to have you back & well done on your loss xx

Thanks Lexie xx It's hard admitting I can't cope by myself but I also know if I hadn't sought help I would have made things a hundred times harder for myself.

You know how I feel about this, Lexie is right. But it's very good to see you posting here again, you're missed you know! x

Thank you Mrs xx You and Lexie are right...as always!!

No-one copes on their own Ali love! I still have days where I want to stay in bed in my pjs but the difference is now I don't & you will find the days get easier & Kitty is right we did miss you LOTS xx

Lovely to have you back and fighting talk too- great!! xxx

Hi Weebuns,

Really good to see your post. I hope the meds work for you, been on them myself for many years & had to try a few before I found the one best suited to me. No one would blink an eye if you were taking tablets for diabetes but there is so much stigma attached to anxiety & depression. I have friends that don't even believe it exists & that people choose to be depressed. Ruby Wax has done a great chat on 'TED', it's really worth a watch.

Reading you're post has given me the strength to carry on with the fast I was just about to break. You've done really well to get back into your three fasts a week while you've been feeling down. It is so easy to seek comfort in the biscuit tin.

Thank you x Do you have a diary I can subscribe to?

So weekend went well (...apart from Gavin! It would be cheaper to employ his own personal vet at this rate, but once again he's on the mend so all is well!) Fast day yesterday and apart from a lot of tea and coffee I had beans on toast. Not very thrilling or exciting but really need to get a shopping in. Fridge freezer issues stopped me getting one done last week and now I have 2 fridge freezers so can shop till I drop!:p Using up bits and pieces so that I can stock up fresh.

Breakfast was a bowl of frosties and a cup of tea. Lunch was wholemeal deli subs with quorn meatballs and tomato ketchup. Dinner was oven baked ham, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots and cauliflower cheese. And tonight I had some apple crumble and custard :)

Fasting again tomorrow and planning a quick trip to M&S for some food and then Tesco shop delivered tomorrow night.

Good to read that post - food sounds tasty (yes I can hear the tastiness!) you're sounding very organised and doing well with your fastsxx

Today has been one of those days...again. Stuck to my fast and keep plodding on  Today's food <img src="http://www.minimins.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=159958"/> Red pepper, lentil and butternut squash soup and an Innocent veg pot. And a million cups of green tea!!

Well done Ali, a day at a time honey with both the diet & life xx

So Thursday was a baaaaddd day!! But after a swift bum kicking from Kitty pulled it together Friday and weekly weigh in yesterday gave me a nice 2lb loss . Weekend hasn't been too indulgent as I had to work a fair bit of yesterday to catch up so that kept me busy and today I've been trying to work out what's tripping my electric..fridge freezer or boiler?? Fasting my usual 3 days this week and work deadline in 3 weeks means I need to keep my head down and get on with it. Gavin has been trying. Having issues with him not wanting to sleep in his crate a night...he sleeps in the kitchen and has taken a dislike to the new fridge freezer  Moved his crate into my bedroom tonight so hopefully we'll both get some sleep!

Welldone on pulling it back. A 2lb loss in a week is fab! Final push this month for a slimmer Xmas. Xxx

First fast of the week done!
