Steps In The Right Direction...86.6lbs Lost Fasting

So Thursday was a baaaaddd day!! But after a swift bum kicking from Kitty pulled it together Friday and weekly weigh in yesterday gave me a nice 2lb loss . Weekend hasn't been too indulgent as I had to work a fair bit of yesterday to catch up so that kept me busy and today I've been trying to work out what's tripping my electric..fridge freezer or boiler?? Fasting my usual 3 days this week and work deadline in 3 weeks means I need to keep my head down and get on with it. Gavin has been trying. Having issues with him not wanting to sleep in his crate a night...he sleeps in the kitchen and has taken a dislike to the new fridge freezer  Moved his crate into my bedroom tonight so hopefully we'll both get some sleep!

great to lose another 2lbs

Kitty perhaps u cd set urself up as a freelance bum-kicker if u fancy a career change - I could do with ur services on a regular basis!

Ali - hope Gavin settles now he's sleeping closer to u?x

I'll put a business plan together, wonder what Lord Sugar would say?

think he'd be chuffed whilst u were in profit but if sales dropped he'd say YOU'RE FIRED!

Unfortunately Gavin is still proving to be a problem at night. Vet has now prescribed him medication for separation anxiety to help...we're quite a pair with all our pills and potions  Will take a couple of days to kick in so till then it's sleeping on the couch with him as it's the only blooming place he'll be quiet and not bark his head off. Tired of apologising to the neighbours! During the day he is completely normal...even sleeping in his bed half the time, just at night the problem rears its head. It has been difficult with the lack of sleep but second fast of the week completed today..though probably not the best food choices :D..tiny ham and beetroot salad, a Dairylea Dunker and some chocolate!! It got me through it and that's all that matters..

oh no poor u and poor Gavin - wonder why that's happened now? Or is he just trying it on? I don't know much about puppies but my son took theirs to puppy classes at the vets and also obediences classes somewhere else - but perhaps u have lots of experience and hopefully patience too! He things improve soon.

Well done on ur fasting - as Lexie says it doesn't matter what u eat as long as u get thro - u usually eat ultra healthily so I'd say that's fine - in fact I'm envious! Hope ur feeling a bit brighter and that Gavin responds to the meds v soon! Xx

Thanks Mini x It's been a bit of a bumpy up and down year but I know that if I'd given up with fasting it would have been a lot worse as nothing would have been made better by being fatter! :)

Thanks Lexie x Neighbours are really good and up until now Gavin hasn't really caused any problems for them so hopefully it will get back to normal soon.

I think it's a few things causing him to be anxious. The dog attacking him and being in the vets and in pain...then we had weeks of fireworks going off round about us...then I got a new fridge freezer which makes a different noise and he hates (he normally sleeps in kitchen at night)...my boiler has been acting up too and it's in the kitchen...I think he's just scared. He goes to a dog trainer who is also a behavioural specialist and he says it's quite common for this after the kind of dog attack he had. I ignore him as best I can when he is acting up but can't let him bark all night. Hoping medication will kick in and he'll get back to his happy wee self. Weirdly outside he is fine...buses, lorries, bikes, people, dogs are no problem. And during the day in the house he is grand too. My brother kindly took him tonight (as I've fallen out with my mum and sister!!) to give me a night off. According to his texts Gavin is just sitting staring at him. For a wee dog he has a lot of attitude and worryingly I fear he thinks he's human...probably because he has now turned into my child substitute!! :p He is also scarily smart :doggy:

Glad ur brother's given u a break - hope Gavin behaves and doesn't outsmart him! Hopefully all the experts will sort him out for u!!!

If anyone is feeling really hungry today....I apologise for eating all the food :D I know it was an UD, but boy was it an UD  I am still struggling at the minute but hoping if I cling onto my fast days with a vice like grip that things won't spiral out of control.

Yes I'm often hungry or maybe I just obsess about food - it's never far from my mind! Don't think the cold weather and short days help either! You're doing well with ur fast days - so as u say just do ur best on the ud days. Hope the anti-depressants are helping? good luck WI ur fasts is week xx

Love that. Lol :) xxx

So weekly weigh in today and a pound off. I didn't fast yesterday. Wasn't a bad food day but not a fast day. I had a terrible Thursday but rest of week went to plan. It seems that every day I'm trying to think of reasons why I would be justified in giving up trying to lose weight for now. The old I'll start again in the New Year argument  My favourites at the minute are:

It's cold. I live in Scotland. It's December..of course it's cold.
I'm stressed and feeling low (have the medication to prove it!! :p )
My medication is making me hungry..is it? I'm not so sure.
I'm hormonal..according to my GP everything health wise with a woman boils down to hormones. I am a woman.
I've not that much to go till I'm a healthy BMI, I've lost over 80lbs so I can relax a bit I've earned it...yeah I've earned being a pig with food for losing weight, good one!!
It's nearly Christmas so what's the point I'll put on then anyway...a couple of pounds is one thing a couple of stones is a whole different ball game.
I'm sleep deprived..thanks to Gavin
Who cares if I put on...this is a real indulgent self pity one.

And they are all just excuses. None of the above should influence how I eat as none of them will be made better by overeating. I really do need to try and look at things with a different mindset or life will be a constant battle with food. Food only solves hunger none of my other "issues"...will print that and stick it on the fridge :D

Yes print that list - bet we all could write a similar one plus another one from the opposite point of view (pre-diet) think mine might start off something like this:-

1. Stuffed myself with rubbish today - why do I do it?
2. Caught a glance of myself in a shop window today - aaagh what a mess - must try harder tomorrow.
....and so on.....

So fasted Monday and today and had a good Tuesday. Am determined this won't be the third Thursday in a row that I lose the plot and eat too much  Up against it with work at the minute so haven't been on much. I seriously don't know how people who work in offices and the like get away with being on here and other social media sites during their working day SO much...don't they ever worry they'll get sacked for not doing their job??? I work from home with no one looking over my shoulder and I can't afford to do it.

Today's food:

pic20141210224250.jpg

3 brown Warburtons sandwich thins with ham and tomato. A skinny latte with a cookies and cream kit kat...these are my new obsession. For some reason I've been eating earlier than I normally would do on a fast day but it hasn't made a difference...still drinking pints :)p ) of tea to fill me up in between!!
