Struggling near target...join us for encouragment

Hi all, thought i'd post up,
Ive lost just under 10 stone with another 7-16lbs to go depending on how i feel when I get there.
I'm struggling a bit with this last stone or so and hopefully this will give me reason to hang in there. I'm trying 1200 this week with more exercise so well see what happens.
According to my bmr I need 2100cals a day without doing anything so should still lose well but my metabolism seems to be on a go slow at the mo and ive only been losing a lb a week on 1000, saying that ive found myself picking on little bits and bobs grrrr.
Any advice would be much appreciated. :)
 
Whoa Badger, you have done SOOOO well! Truly awesome. You also seem really determined & committed so I think you are going to keep that weight off, too. The last stone seems to be the toughest, and losses do really slow down. I think my metabolism has been asleep lately too, so trying to build some exercise into my days to wake it up again. I think you tend to hit little plateaus like this, then the body adjusts, metabolism wakes up & a bit more weight is lost... but you are not the only one struggling once food goes back into the picture.

well done Badger and welcome, you have done really well.

I've just got back from day 2 at the gym, went through the programme that the personal trainer gave me, then went and swam 40 lenghts, going to have a cd soup then get stuck into some housework. hope everyone is ok.
 
Am starting afresh today - no more messing! Rather than two weeks to WI I'm making it one week - and one week of 810 (strictly!) - haven't done it in months, so hoping it's the kick start i need right now. Feeling more positive than I have been - so onwards and downwards!!!!
 
well d one Minz thats the right attitude, its so hard to get back into the swing of cd once you have strayed, you've just got to stay strong, I've been messing around with cd for far too long picking at stuff then wondering why I haven't lost much, I've been 100% for 3 days now so hopefully I've turned the corner

Thanks Trisha.....well done on 3 days, hardest bit over.... we can all try kid ourselves that a bit of this and that won't affect the losses, but it does.
 
morning all, I've been awake since 5 am, and feel full of energy, so I'm off to the gym, but it doesn't open until 8 am on Sunday. weighed myself on scales and showing sts :sigh: but I know I've been 100%, so I expect it will catch up eventually. totm is due but a little late,its all over the place at the moment, so could be that, here's to another 100%. hope everyone is doing okay, catch you all later.
 
Hi Trish, I'm up early too... bit sleepy and fragile after yesterday though! Went to friends' housewarming, whole family, I was 100% & had fun sitting outside in sun, sipping my fizzy water. Then called in to see mum & my brother & sis-outlaw who were down. Fab, as they are soooo lovely. Then got a call saying pop over to different friends who were sitting outside with a bonfire, music & drinks... we went over & had a lovely night. I had a small whisky (maybe one measure) in about a halfpint of water & 3 oatcakes with hummus, hadn't had my 810 meal so figured it could have been worse. I know you're not meant to drink but that one whisky lasted all night & danced around the garden under the stars (my version of gym!) and laughed and woke up with my hair smelling of woodsmoke... just the nicest afternoon/evening I've had in ages.

So NOT gonna beat myself up for going off plan, it was 100% worth it for the fun... we stayed over so as not to rive home, then I had to get everyone up at crack of dawn to drive us back so son could get changed for work... then drive him there... now home again. OH & daughter have crawled into their beds, I'm just gonna curl up with my porridge and wake up properly. Sun is going to shine today. YAY!!!!!

Sounds like a great day Katycakes - and well done for being so good around all that temptation! Lovely sunny day again here today - doesn't it do you good? On day 2 of 810 and feeling very positive that I'm finally going to get to goal :)
 
Hey everyone

This sounds like just the thread for me. I have just gotten back from 12 days in Italy, as you can imagine, although I was walking for hours on end a day, the temptations were high and I succumbed. Getting back into ketosis has proved a lot more difficult and frustrating as I am so close to my goal!

I need something to help me stay on track these last 7kgs and get to maintenance, would love to join in to get some support and support others.
 
Hi Aussieraquel - your trip sounds lovely and you've done so well so far.......but the holiday's over and it's time for renewed willpower.

The last bit IS the hardest for me (I know that from going up and down the same few lbs since November!).....but the end is in sight and we'll all get there.......sooooo close we can taste it and nothing tastes as good as slim feels. We're here for ya!

p.s. I lived in Sydney for 10 years - just love it there.
 
Hey Minz & Aussie, mornin'!!!

I think the hard bit Minz is not to go & eat more oatcakes NOW... there are some in cupboard here, calling me... so will make a coffee/choc shake latte to stave off the danger! And get outside in the sun, which will keep me busy. I felt like I had been very, very bad as got drunk v. fast on such a tiny amount, but then again it was only one & as my OH said, 'you always were a cheap date'. Huh!!! But 3 or 4 months ago there is no way I'd have had the confidence or energy to be dancing around someones garden in the moonlight... so there you go.

Aussie, this thread is a lifesaver... where were you in Italy? We were in Sorrento last October, & it was one big pasta fest... it was pre CD but what a way to go I guess... such fab food. I am off to Australia in 3 weeks, to work (just for 10 days) ... first time ever - scary!!!! But very exciting too.

Well done! Nice one on the shed too - painting them is hard work (must confess to only painting mine green on the two visible sides LOL).

Minz this is me too since Christmas I've been lose 1 lb sts gain 1lb, its so frustrating!

katy sounds like you had a fab evening,I've not had a drink in such a long time, I'd be drunk after 1 as well, the sun is shining here as well.
You are lucky going to Austrialia, what do you do for a job that takes you there? I Went shopping for a few bits after the gym and the oatakes were calling me too, I love oatcakes, and can't wait until I'm allowed then again, they should be okay as they are low gi. Just 1 more day off for me then I'm back at work :sigh: roll on half term.
