Struggling near target...join us for encouragment

welcome dagonfly,
sizz I also agree I would rather have a cdc who understands the struggles we have. My cdc is very supportive, but never not once cheated when on the diet! and sometimes when I've sts or gained 1lb or only lost 1lb and I feel like a failure.

Katy I work in a high school, with ages 11-16, so its not awwww lovely ,they're not cute anymore! more like sulky teenagers with attitude although on the whole the kids are very well behaved, they're just not cute and enthusiastic.

Im going to Portugal! Im just praying I dont put on too much weight!! Argh!!! im in 2 minds - part of me says Im healthy now and I should have little bits of what I fancy if I fancy it, and if I put on weight then i can lose it again as long as i get back on plan when I land. But part of me just wants to stick rigidly to 810 and keep loosing! Who knows what ill do hehe!

to make matters worse - hopefully by the end of the week I will be a CDC !!!! what an example I am (NOT !!) xxx
Sorry to go completely off the subject here - but at a height of 42' 7" I reckon you're way too skinny....:D:D

On a more serious note - I know better than most how hard it is to lose the last bit, but am doing ok so far this week and the biggest thing I noticed is the water - it really is much easier if you drink a lot.

Go girls!

Thank god for monday, pleasantly suprised today, despite moving up to 1200 on friday at which I point I gained 4lbs overnight ive dropped 3 of those so only a pund heavier and hopefully those will be gone by next weeks weigh in. Hated 1000 as I was hungry but so far 1200 is really nice and feels enough. :)
Well done to those who behaved over the weekend(well food wise anyway ;) ) its by far the hardest time. :)

Hi Trisha, I used to work in a high school too... (have done high school & primary, as an art specialist) I loved it, I agree in a way, the kids are trying hard NOT to be cute but they are still kids underneath it all... or maybe I am just looking back with rose-tinted glasses!!!

Crazy, Portugal will be FAB. Never been there, but it will be WARM!!!! Whichever choices you make I know you will stay on track in the long term... get back on here afterwards and tell us all about it! And make sure you enjoy every minute of it honey.

Minz... so you mean Sizz isn't actually 42' tall? Thanks for water tip, I agree on days I drink alot I feel less hungry... well done for staying on track this week, we can do this!!!

Badger, thanks for info re:1000 & 1200... that's very useful to know, especially the weight gain, its the kind of thing that could be scary... you are doing really well!

I did this too lol, it happens each time I eat carbs but soon disappears. Hopefully your lb will be gone by tomorrow.

Does anyone know where I could buy a hand held calorie counter from so I can keep track of what I have eaten throughout the day? There seems to be a couple in America but none in the UK :-(

I allways do it all to extreme, 21lbs at xmas
Have you tried ebay for the counter?

21 lbs! Good man, just like me, if you going to do it do it in style lol.

Yes I have there are loads of calorie loss counters for tracking when you exercise but not for eating.
How do you keep track each day?

hi Katy, I've worked in primary too and I know what you mean, and most of the kids are great and you can have a laugh with them and their views on the world, but they're not little and cute anymore, most of them are bigger than me!

Crazy Portugal is great, we went there a few years ago and I loved it.

Trip, I had a weight watchers one a few years ago, It was like a calculator that you could work ww points on but you could also use it to keep track of cals eaten in the day I think.

Sleepy it'll be OK!!! I'm sure will be fine... you're under your goal weight anyway honey so even if you have gone up a tiny bit it's no biggy, you will even out soon. I know that from reading the maintainers diaries... they go up, then down... as long as you don't go up, up, up that is fine! And I don't see you EVER doing that after how far you have come.

Have you thought of doing a diary on the maintainers Sleepy? I want to start one after next weigh in maybe, not because I think I will be at target (though I hope to drop a bit) but as a way to be accountable to myself for what I am eating/doing, until it becomes second nature to me. Might that not help you? I am scared to step over there as I feel such a fraud next to the fab Serena, Lostris, Nibbles, Lelly & co so am looking for company! And you ARE a maintainer and a lovely, inspiring & supportive one... you should be over there! (As well as here!!!)

As a last resort, if you are seriously dreading it, I have cancelled once when I knew the news would not be good & skipped a week - by the following week I had clawed back a 5lb loss. Just a thought! (Not that you need to lose any more, Ms Skinny!)

I dont really, just eat what my cdc prescribes :)
Sorry Badger what does that mean, if you don't mind me asking. Are you getting recipes from your CDC?

Trisha thanks, I have tried WW but they only do them now that work out points not calories.

Sleepy, totally agree with katycakes your at a level now where you will go up and down because you are at maintenance. You will be fine tonight ''ms Skinny,'' you should be skinnybird not sleepybird lol.

Yup, you are right Trip, we hereby re-name Sleepy as Skinnybird. Tis official.

No i'm just being typically male and doing what i'm told and eating what takes the least doing.
She's given me a list of meal combinations that add up to the 1200 calories.
Typical day:
Porridge
Beans on toast/Bread and sardines
Cod or chicken, Greens and potatoes or rice
Apple/pear/orange etc
2 x cambridge meals
1/2 pint milk

Do you not have the yellow book?, got recipes in there. Ask for another I would you havnt :)

Hi Badger, yes I have but Im a veggie and on the 1000 plan there is only 1 meal option. Also there is a debate going on re the quorn, cottage cheese situation for veggies on option 3b, which I will ask my CDC about tonight.
I'm just fishing for other peoples diets to see what they are eating as I'm really struggling at the mo and find myself using 100 calories on a bag on low fat crisps than a bannana! :ashamed0005: Im counting calories but the wrong type of them...
