Sudden weight gain of 6lbs- water?

Hey all

After getting my BMI under 25, i let myself off the leash a little at the weekend, went to a buffet, had a couple of drinks... I probably had 4k calories on the saturday and knew i might regain a pound.

Step forward the monday, and weekly weigh in- to find id gained 6lbs??

I know its 3500 calories for a pound of fat, so was quite confused. Do you think its to do with my body regaining glycogen and thus water?. It seems an awful lot, even to explain by water?

Anyone else had this when taking a day off calorie restriction?

Considering what you put in your body and the amount of it all at once.. I would say the salt is the biggest contributor to your water gain. Fast for a day with water, teas and soups. For a couple days after eat lots of raw veggies and lean meats too. You should be back to normal in no time it's no big deal. :)

When my Mum use to have a drink she would gain about half a stone but would come of by next week.
