Susie's 2022 campaign

Afternoon all Continuing the ice cream theme (Serena love, I'll have your share any day :D), I've scored a cheap Gino D'Acampo ice cream maker on eBay so my Muller Light icicle nightmares are over woohoo :D Lovely easygoing day here - B - nice omelette with spinach, bacon and cheese (HEA) and tea L - leftover beef and chicken stew, packed full of veg, mint Muller Light D - not sure - something clever with mince - maybe a lasagne S - fruit - and maybe some toast (HEB) or Alpen Lights. Did I mention I've got a job interview on Tuesday? Really good job, a bit more money, and away from Stinky Pants boss - so, cross fingers x Oooh I've just an air fryer too - again, less than half price - really looking forward to trying it out, I've wanted one for ages! :D

Oooooo I LOVE kitchen gadgets! Will u turn Muller Lights into 'Ice Cream' with it? I love my Actifry, it comes in so handy when I just want stodge like chips, wedges and Roasties! Did you make your lasagne? Good luck with your interview, hope you get it :) x

Re the yogurt into ice cream - that's the plan - and then I can eat it ALL day :D

I think the Actifry (it's actually a brand called Cooks Essentials - looks lovely in white, and good ratings) will make cracking SW chips, wedges (yaye) and baked potatoes - what with that and George, I may never turn my oven on again :D

It is on now though, with the lasagne in it haha - didn't use the mince, it should have been used two days ago and had gone a funny colour so I biffed it. Used this recipe Pretty and Polished: Slimming World Cannelloni. TG for weight loss blogs eh? I am clipping a load of great recipes on Evernote - then decide what I want to make, switch on the tablet in the kitchen and Bob is indeed my uncle :D Will take a pic later.

I can honestly say there have been times I've used my Actifry and George and not turned the oven on! It's brill!!!! I've not tried baked potatoes in it yet, in fact I didn't even realise u could!!!! Mmmmmm cannelloni sounds good! Hope u enjoy it x

The lasagne is really yummy - and thinking about it, cheap as to make, too :)

it's just frozen spinach, 300g tub of low fat cottage cheese, one egg, some passata and lasagne sheets - and it is very very tasty, plus makes enough for four big servings :)

Which recipe will you try first? X

OMG I don't know - I even got chicken out to defrost overnight and can't remember which recipe it was for LOL! TG for Evernote, at least I can search chicken and see if the brain light goes on :)

B - huge 3 egg omelette thing with F/F fromage frais, leftover pasta, bacon, herbs and parmesan (HEA) - and a whopping 8 syns in butter! But I thought I might as well try using them all and see what happens
L - leftover stew and a brown roll (HEB)
D - lasagne and wilted spinach
S - yogurt, grapefruit, 2 oaty cookies (11 for all 8, so say 3)

OATY COOKIES

Makes about 8.

5 Syns for all the cookies, if using the oats as your HEB

1 large ripe banana - 100g
35g quick-cook porridge oats

Spray a baking tray with Frylight or line with non-stick baking paper.

Mash the banana in a bowl with a fork. If you're following the plan to the letter, this is where the 5 Syns come in.

Mix in the porridge oats (and some sweetener, if you like things a bit sweeter) and blob onto the baking tray. Sometimes I add some cinnamon at this point.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180C/gas mk. 4 on the middle shelf for approx. 15 mins.

Allow to cool on the tray, although they do taste really yummy when they are slightly warm!

Loving your recipe! Really wish I could eat oats! How much butter did you get for 8syns? I love love love real butter! Mmmmmmm! X

It was Pure soya spread, and I used two tablespoons which was too much, actually, one would have been enough :)

Also going to try the smash sausage roll this afternoon once Mr Sainsburys has brought some eggs :D

Ahhh I remember what the chicken is for - korma, using a coconut Muller light yogurt mmm :) That's for tonight, will have lasagne for lunch yaye!

I'm liking the sound of Smash Sausage Rolls too!!!! Mmmmmm Korma, grrrrr to not being able to have muller lights lol x

Oh sorry hun are you doing SP this week? Just think of the big loss you'll have!

I ended up making the smash cheesy scones, they are in the oven now, will take a pic. Then the sausage rolls, made the mash but Pete (Bilsat on the SW forum, he is amazing!) says to chill the mash first so will wait for that to happen and make them later.

I hate this 3-5pm time on a Sunday - desperately want Saturday morning back!

001.jpg

Verdict on the scones - they are surprisingly yummy! Just had one, straight out of the oven and yum! Just as the recipe said, I got 12 out of the mixture, with 15 syns for the cheese, so 1.25 syns each. I used half fat cheddar so could have 6 if counting the cheese as my HEA (hope that's right). I think they would be lovely with soup, so a good addition to the recipe book!

Looking forward to trying the sausage rolls now!

Those scones look amazing! Do you have the recipe for those? Amazing value for 1.25syns each too! I'm not brave enough to try EESP, I can't have Miller lights as they aren't veggie and I'm always jealous of the amazing sounding flavours! X

This recipe uses no cheese which would make them all free :). Otherwise, I doubled the recipe and added 75g cheese, but got 12 good sized scones (as in normal scone sized scones). The comments below are from the Minis person who posted the recipe - good idea re the bun!

300g cottage cheese
2 eggs
1 107g packet of SMASH (I used cheese and onion smash to make cheese flavoured scones)

Blend the cottage cheese and eggs with a hand blender. Then stir in the SMASH. This makes a dough which you can then seperate into scones. I made 8. I had mine with some homemade butternut squash, sweet potato and red lentil soup for lunch.

If you made these with plain SMASH you could easily make them bigger and have them as a bread bun substitute.

And on further cooking news, I made the oaty cookies - 70g oats plus two bananas mashed up and dolloped in 8 lots on baking paper. Dunno about these, Ok but think they could have done with a few more minutes in the oven. Or try this one (for those who can eat oats!) -

And now the smash sausage roll (a ginormous one!) is in the oven too! I had a thick roll of Joe's Sausages sausage meat, and it was all a lot less fiddly than I imagined, so here's hoping they taste good!

Onto the korma shortly, although I haven't got much appetite, what with 2 cheese scones and a nibble of a cookie :D

Blimey I've only been away a day and so much lovely stuff on here Susie :D

Anyone got a recipe for SW tagine?

Forgot to say one in current magazine x

Just put something similar on my thread. Argh why does weekend time go at warp speed whereas working days drag??
