I dont know if you remember I posted last week about my eldest son and him possibly having an auto immune condition.

Well it looks like he has rheumatoid arthritis, he is only 13. :( He must have always had it and is having his first flare up which is why we have discovered it. His joints are swollen; his knees, elbows, hands and now this week his hips are bothering him. He has had his first blood tests and they have come back positive so he is currently awaiting results of a second set of tests.

This week we go back to the GP and hopefully find out where we go now. I know he is down for some physio ..other than that no idea whats next.
Its hard knowing that your kids are sick, especially as he has been through so much already. Last year he has a burst appendix and from that he got a kinked bowel and it took him 6 months to recover .. I thought he would be fine from here on in.

Anyway - thankyou for reading.

*hugs*

Has your son been given any meds to control the pain/swelling for now? I hope so.

I have a daughter who has spent a lot of her life in hospital so I totally feel your pain :(

I hope you soon get the answers you need so that your son can get treatment and you can both move on with his illness managed

Children bounce back, I think sometimes more than us adults! Xxx

definatly. im always way more distressed by kayas hospital stays than she is

hope they can get him on the right drug regimen to help him, he should be seen by a specialist for this

friend of mine has artheritis ( shes 62 thou ) and she uses alternative medicine as well as traditional, says it helps her

i belong to a website for parents of chidren with additional needs in the uk, might be someone there with extra info on your sons condition. its Special Kids in the UK

oh and massive hugs to you xxx

Thanks for the reply XO

Whats the matter with your daughter? Do you mind me asking?

The DR gave him anti inflamitory tablets but at the time we hadnt yet tested and she said she would change them when she gets the results ....anyways they dont even seem to be touching the pain and swelling but he is persevering this week with them till he goes back on Thursday.
