The 100lb Diary

Loving the snack platter, it looks great and it's all healthy stuff. I love wee bits of different things like that, nice to have a bit of variety. We bought a cake tin today so the lemon cake should be made very soon! We only had a big round one before which wouldn't work at all.

Dunno if it's coz we were talking about it the other day or not but I bought a couple of fillet steaks today so we are having them either Friday or Saturday night. Was gonna do a syn free pepper sauce but if it turned out crap it would ruin the steak, so I just bought a sachet the butcher does. Probably loads of syns but I don't care, it's so nice!

The scales are like that sometimes, I hate it. Mine are all over the show lately. So far I'm showing 1lb lost but star week is coming any day now so who knows what will happen... I'm sure you'll be alright for weigh in tomorrow. Good call not jogging today though, I would probably skip it the day before weigh in too.

I remember how stressed I used to get the night before SW class, its why I decided to just do it from home this time around. Not that I'm dead chilled about it now, I tell myself it will come off eventually but I'm just so impatient. Suppose it's normal.

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow!!!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to reply sooner - Ooo let me know what you think on lemon cake, I had to make another one yesterday for mum. Nah its not worth the risk of ruining an expensive bit of meat, I'd just have their sauce and try not to syn much for the rest of the day.
I think mine are off because they need new batteries, I've just bought some so hopefully they'll start reading accurately again. I can definitely see how easily having group could stress you out, I'm surprised it doesn't wind my anxiety up but to be honest it's nice to be able to focus on something that is for my benefit every week, it's been a while since I've been able to do that. We were caring for a relative 24/7 before, I did try and diet but I just found it impossible to do both.

Weigh in was good - 2.5lbs off! Only 3lb to the next award now :D
And went to Iceland after for more sausages (I love free sausages) and they had the famous free curry sauce in so got some of that too.

So yesterrdays food:

HUGE Breakfast - tomato, eggs, beans, mushrooms, SW pork and leek sausages, 1 slice toast (1/2 HexB), squaffles
Lunch - mixed pepper stir fry with chicken breast and soy sauce
Dinner (tv snack plate) - 40g weetabix minis (HexB) milk (HexA), hifi light (1/2 HexB), options, (1.5 syns), slice of ham with salad, poached egg salad, lemon cake (1 syn)

Total syns = 2.5
Weekly total = 87.5

Wow, that is an amazing loss, you must be delighted! I love it when you have a nice result when you've not been expecting it. Let me know how the curry sauce tastes, it would save him a bit of cooking if it's nice.

Cake should be done this weekend. Gonna have the steaks tomorrow night so it will be easier to keep my syns down to make up for it coz I'm off work. Maybe have a slice of cake for dessert instead of my usual Creme Egg, haha.

Forgot to eat breakfast in work again today, I dunno what's wrong with me. Absolutely wrecked tonight so just gonna take it easy and watch some telly, then the house needs some serious cleaning over the weekend! Hate cleaning!

Hope you have a good weekend.

Finally made the lemon drizzle cake, I think we should've left it in a bit longer the first time it went in the oven, it had risen then it dropped while it was cooling and never really recovered. Still, it was bloody lovely, good call. Have had 2 slices tonight. I'm absolutely stuffed now though. Hubby loved it too.

Checked the calories on the pepper sauce, 124 for the whole sachet so only 3 syns each, well worth it. Might have it more often...

Hope you're having a nice weekend!

Hiya missus, how are things? Hope you're keeping well...

Heya sorry I've not been on, I've picked up some kind of nasty bug so I've mostly been sleeping. Doing ok considering with the plan though, was a bit high on syns and cals yesterday but felt too ill to care and synning made me feel better lol and I was up til until silly early in the morning because it's knocked my sleep pattern right out so that should have burned a few extra cals. Today it's gone the other way with barely appetite at all so it should even itself out.

I was quite proud of myself Sunday - we all went to the seaside with mum for mothers day and obviously everyone voted on fish and chips for lunch. I got beans and mushy peas then popped over the road while they waited to the fishermans huts for a smoked salmon fillet to go with it :) I did have a slice of cake when we got back to mums after though.

Glad you like the cake recipe, I have to cook it a little longer too but I wasn't sure if that was just my oven. I haven't managed to stop it dropping once it cools down but it's still very edible :) Pepper sauce sounds well worth it for 3 syns!

Hiya, sorry to hear you've not been well! I was the same when you're ill the last thing you need to be doing is counting syns, but like you say I'm sure it will even itself out.

Sounds like you had a nice day out for mothers day anyway.

I'm glad to hear it's not just our cake that's a flop! Was still yummy, even better the next day if that's possible. Will definitely be trying again soon.

Hope you feel better soon missus! Look after yourself.

Hiya, feeling a bit more like myself today, just got the cough lingering. Weird illness, it came on within a couple of hours, 5.30pm Sunday I was fine by 8pm I was curled up on the sofa sweating, shivering, golf ball sized glands and so on. It was really intense for a couple of days but seems to be clearing up already (looks for wood to touch).
Hoping to try the SW curry sauce later, got some cauli rice and chicken pieces to go with it :D
I'd wondered if mixing the cake batter differently would help it hold it's shape, it's pretty much a true sponge just without sugar and with those I think you fold the flour into it last rather than fold the egg white in last... I'm not much of a baker though so I haven't experimented, I'd be too upset if I ruined a tasty cake! Let me know if you find a fix for it.

I'm glad you're on the mend, that's sounds horrible! I'm such a wimp when I'm ill, hate it.

Hope the curry sauce turned out ok, let me know. Really don't know about the cake, we thought we had left it cooling for too long, but we only did 20 mins in the oven for the first part, so maybe it wasn't in long enough. Will definitely let you know if we figure it out.

Not sure if we will have it again this weekend, but it was nice to have cake on Sunday for breakfast. Also on Saturday I had no chocolate (because I had 2 pieces of cake instead, haha) but that's got to be a first for me!

Hope you're back to feeling normal tomorrow!

The curry sauce was fab, like tastes like Chinese takeaway curry I loved it! It comes with the recipe printed inside the lid too so might try making it.
Bit disappointed at the weigh in, only got half a pound off - my scales at home said I'd lost 1.5 so it was a bit disheartening as they're usually spot on. This week should be better, I feel well enough to get back on the treadmill at least so that should help!

I can't really be bothered to type out my full daily menu's for the last week but here's some pics -

I think that's all the pics I've taken.

Your food always looks delish! Half lb off is still good, especially considering you were ill most of the week, that always messes with your system. You've done so well so far, and a loss is still going in the right direction. Chances are you'll have a really good loss next week anyway.

I've not been on the treadmill in nearly 2 weeks, but weirdly enough the weight is coming off even quicker, I was dreading Monday as I had eaten more calories and done less exercise than the weeks before, and it was star week and I lost 3.2lbs, and then I thought it would be back on me by Tuesday but it has stayed off and Im down another 2lbs since Monday. I can't believe it, just hope I can keep it up over the weekend...

So it just shows you that no matter how much you think you've done well, or done badly, the scales will usually surprise you. It's a mystery to me! Unless my scales are broken, haha!

I'm having a bit of a cheat tonight, burgers with white baps instead of wholemeal, I figure the calories aren't much different so hoping it won't affect me too much. Been ages since I had white bread, I'm so excited about it, it's quite sad really...

Hope you have a good weekend!

Thank you :) Mostly my cooking turns out ok - if a little rustic! There was one deceptive pasta dish that looked great but was awful! I forced down 1 portion out of spite because I spent ages cooking it but the rest got thrown out lol.
I'm not over disappointed as it's still a loss as you say and I wasn't well, was just expecting more as my scales showed a pound less than that an hour earlier. I have changed the batteries though so maybe that's why, although thinking about it I did give them a good kick the other day (accidentally not in anger! Honest!)
Wow you're doing really well! Looks like changing up the activity and calories has really done something :)
Ooo great minds think alike - I had a white bap with one of my soups earlier, it made a nice change.

Haha, I'm sure we have all felt like giving the scales a good kick at times...

Oh the white bap was so good, like food porn! I just need to make sure it's a very rare treat, otherwise I'll end up back where I was.

Maybe you're right, and changing things up has helped, will try to get back on the treadmill tomorrow and maybe even try a little jog. Want to start doing some sit ups or weights too, try to tone up a bit. Have been very low on energy this week, but felt a bit more normal today so no excuses now.

I did have another roll with soup yesterday, lightly toasted with 2 syns of light spread and oh my it was amazing!
I need to start using weights too, my OH bought me a set because I begged and begged and I've barely touched them. Not because I don't want to I just have no idea what to do with them lol. Perhaps that should be my mini target for the week.
I'm feeling good today, scales are showing 1.4lb down from what they read Friday and I have resisted temptation and not had any weekend drinks! And I did manage a proper go on the treadmill despite the lingering cough, I'd been so worried about losing the stamina I built up but I did a c25k week 2 workout and added a few extra minutes jogging at the end.
I did have about 1/3 of an easter egg yesterday though(27 syns), although to be fair if I'd drunk I'd probably have eaten the whole egg on top too! I'm hoping that eating my syns instead of drinking them will affect this weeks losses differently...
Hope you're having a good weekend :D

Glad the scales are showing a loss already, that's a good sign for next week!

I've not done any exercise this weekend, I've had a sore back the last few days, was up for nearly 2 hours in the middle of the night, couldn't get back to sleep until my tablets kicked in. Don't know what I've done either, just hoping it gets better soon!

I had another burger in a white bap for lunch yesterday too, it was so good. Calories were still really low for the day, I think I'm following calorie counting more than slimming world at the minute though. Not that it matters, as long as it works...

Leg of lamb for dinner tonight, really looking forward to it.

It is good to see them moving already :)
Oh no don't try and do anything if you have a bad back - the last thing you want is to make it worse! I literally couldn't stand another day not doing something, but I have such a sedentary lifestyle - no travelling to work, don't have anywhere in walking distance to go (apart from a VERY overpriced local shop), I don't drive so can't drive to a nice walking spot or anything. Makes it difficult to include enough 'body magic', it's good though that I missed the treadmill, I never thought that would happen! I hope when I've lost weight and I'm less embarrassed I can go outside jogging, I'd like that.
Hey if it's working stick with it, I think using calorie counting but with SW principles (1/3 speed, HEX's etc) is probbaly a good way to go. I don't think I'd be losing anything if I didn't CC too. I've tried a few diet plans and I have only lost when I've CC'd too, even when I did 5:2 I still had to use MFP.
Heh fortunately we've run out of white baps now so no more for me!
Dinner sounds good, I love lamb haven't had it in ages.

Yeah, its mad when you get that little buzz from exercise, I go through phases myself, but I'm glad I have the treadmill at home coz it saves on gym fees, which are usually wasted on me...

I understand how you feel though, when Im off work I find it hard to motivate myself to do any exercise, even walking to the corner shop feels like a chore, haha!

I bought some kingsmill 50/50 baps this week, they had less calories and less fat than the wholemeal rolls. They don't count as a HEX but I don't care, gonna substitute it and see how I go. That's where the calorie counting comes in handy. When I want to cheat! Dinner was good, but I think I prefer a roast chicken dinner...

Anyway, enjoy what is left of the weekend, hope the scales keep moving in the right direction!!!
