I was handed this topic by a lady at work today and was curious as to what else people thought.... I work as a make up artist for a cosmetics house and had a client for an appointment today who said she had always been scared to come for an appointment before because she thought she would be judged... Made me quite sad really... But I understand.... Which led me to thinking what was everyone scared of doing before they started this diet and what are you looking forward to doing as the weight falls off??? Xx

I'm going on pilgrimage to the Holy Lands in Feb. The last time I flew I had to ask for an extension to the seat belt because the seat belt wouldn't fit around me. I was so ashamed I haven't flown since. I am looking forward to being able to do the seat belt up!

Everything!! Going out in case I bumped into old friends, having my picture taken, going clothes shopping, going to my children's school(fat mummy!!!), not socialising, looking in the mirror, weighing myself...the list goes on!!!

I am starting tomorrow- again!!! So hopefully I can eradicate the above list!!

    Great thread!!

Well mine is..... As you get older you see less of your friends dont you.... but every year me and my girl friends go out at Christmas.... we go for a meal and then drinks.....

Every year...i pretend i am excited and every year i HATE it!!! Not seeing them obviously.... but seeing them all glammed up and theres me in my black pants....black top!!! Anything i could find in Asda to fit!!!

I feel ashamed and i feel i am the 'FAT' one.... i always without fail make an excuse to leave early....

Well girls not this year.... I think i'll be a size 14/16..... Having lost around 7 stone!!!!! My confidence is growing each day!!! This year i'll enjoy my night with my friends and i'll be lapping up the compliments!!!!

    : )

I have missed out on so many holidays with my friends over the years, solely because of my weight. I've not wanted to be the fat one who is constantly covered up, or the fat one who has to ask for a seat belt extension on the plane or the fat one who can't handle the heat (as let's be honest being fat and high temps is about as uncomfortable as it comes). So many issues with holidaying when overweight.

I've always declined going to theme parks too as i just can't imagine how embarrassing it is being told to get off a ride because the bar doesn't come down because of my belly.

That is just two of the many examples where my weight has scared me off doing something or stopped me doing something.

Those are two of my best friends biggest fears as well, she won't go near a ride at a theme park.. Even though she would be fine she just won't do it bless her, and I've never had to ask for an extension on a plane but I've been close I hated the idea of flying for that reason alone other than that I love flying so I completely understand what you mean.... But thanks to this diet all will be well again soon slim bodies everywhere!! Xx

I wouldn't be fine on the rides as carry a lot of my weight on my belly ... not that anything else is weight free lol. I'd be embarrassed beyond words so just won't put myself in that situation.

Another thing is like hen parties or weekends away with the girls .. always seem to be fancy dress which is a nightmare, not only are most outfits totally inappropriate and too small for overweight people but if you don't wear them you stick out like a sore thumb .. no win.

By the way great weight loss ... wow!!! x

I would love teletubbies to be a theme for fancy dress theme as i'd fit in for once lol x

You need to take them things that bother you and remember them when you feel like giving up, my thing that I hate is being in nightclubs and looking at all the lovely skinny girls in their gorg outfits and feeling like im not good enough to even be in the same place as them :( but im going to hold on to that feeling and it will hopefully keep me on this lipotrim road !! x
