The journey to a new me!

Oh NO PT! I didnt realise the spotting was a concern for you till now? I know what you mean about medical people not being interested in VLCD's! I'm actually embarrased to tell people about my diet as 90% of people are horrified that you dont eat and have meal replacements. I admit to feeling better now that I'm at least having a meal a day or so.... I feel relatively normal again. I really did seclude myself from society for the first 10 weeks of this diet for fear of temptation. But yes, you have to take care of your health first. Pointless being thin and sick!

I hit 93.9kg this morning LOL! 93's - gees I havnt been here in a LONG TIME. I was 100% yesterday ss+. Gonna try stick to SS+ the rest of this week too.... I know I'm slowing down my weightloss with going onto 2 products and a meal - but TBH, I feel like I can join society again! I almost feel human and "normal". Also, ALL my clothes fit me (and some are even too big) ....

I dont know if anyone else feels like I do about my weightloss and this diet, but I'm actually quite content with how I look (not weigh) at the moment - its already a drastic transformation having lost 22kg's odd... and I never want to be stick thin - I'm happy having curves, after all I'm not 20something anymore. Even tho I would like to lose another 10kgs, it is still about 15kgs from my CDC's "goal weight" which is really a stick insect! My friends have told me 10kgs and then reasses - so I'm going to do that. So my new goal is 85kgs and I'll take it from there...

What are you doing for hubby's birthday tomorrow Sunflower? (PS the other board is dead?)

:happy096: Jillybeans on reaching 93.9kg!! That brilliant, well done! It's such a nice feeling when clothes start fitting again! I bought a size 16 swimming costume and jeans this weekend and the swimming costume actually fits (though a bit snug) but nothing too tight! The jeans come on all the way past my bum but I cant fasten them yet - but 1 more stone and they will fit! That's my next target now, to fit in those jeans before we go on holiday end of June.

I am not where you are yet. I prefer the way I look now to what I used to look before, but I can't say I'm content yet. I think when I reach that next stone down (4 in total) then I might start to feel like that. People are finally starting to notice...yay! I dont mind the compliments but I hate discussing my weight loss with people, so when they ask me how much have you lost and how much do you still need to lose, I just kind of grumble saying I don't really weigh myself that often (which is a total lie as I weigh myself every 2nd day or so...lol...but they don't need to know that!) so I'm not sure and I still have about a million stone to go....lol. Grr...it really has nothing to do with anybody what diet I'm on and how much weight I still want to lose. Grrrr...nosey people!

Jillybeans, I would suggest a multivitamin if you are only going to do 2 products a day. At least that way you know you'll get all your daily nutrients.

Sunflowerlady, how have you been? Yeah, what are you planning for hubby's birthday?

Hope you both have a lovely day! :)

LOL PT! :ashamed0005::ashamed0005: I do the same! I dont want anyone knowing how much I weighed to start, or how much I've lost or how much I have to go as then they can calculate how much I weigh!!! LOL! My friend on Friday said "oh you must be in a 16 by now".... she was fishing, and I didnt take the bait!

I used to take a fizzy multivitamin effravessent before I started the diet - so I will take it again once I start going onto 2 products a day. R750 a week is alot of money for a single parent!

I've lost 22kg which is just short of 4stone (wow... holy cow) and people really do sit up and take note. I actually cant believe how much weight I had to lose to visually SEE a difference (other people notice) - I mean I notice in my clothes every day. I would put on a pair of jeans at the back of the cubboard one week and the button wouldn't close - then 2 weeks later it would! :D

Well done on the size 16's and for sure you'll fit into them by end June! I have no doubt about that!

My dad bought me a stunning costume before I started the diet - which now unfortunately doesnt fit anymore.

Sunflower? Check in on your secret WI this morning pleeeeze?

Holy Moley Jillybeans....R750 per week! Ouch that is steep! I pay £40 (R520.00) per week and that includes 21 products, my weigh in and her guidance. Gosh, I dont blame you that you find it expensive! I would too. Today is cold and rainy here and I dont feel like my shake for lunch. Wish I brought a soup instead:sigh:. I wonder what the banana flav shake will taste like hot...lol..desperation is kicking in...hahahaha! My next social gathering is 2nd June and have decided not to go out or socialise until then and luckilly at this one it won't be hard to stay on plan. Gives me a good 3 weeks to stay completely focussed without extra temptation. Sunflowerlady, where are you? x

Yes, R750 for a box of 21 sachets of shakes - thats 3 meals a day for 7 days... and thats a 'special' price to me coz I was going to be on the diet for so long! Its like you - pointless being sick but thin, for me its pointless being in debt review and thin!!! So this month I ordered only 2 boxes and will eat a meal a day.

What did you do with your banana shake? LOL!

I totally miscalculated today and only had my breakfast shake at 11.20am (got stuck into work) and so tryiing to stretch out my lunch shake to 3pm! I'm watching the clock!!:D

LOL...I had the shake hot. It was actually not bad. Quite nice. Bought one of those Cambridge mixer whizzy thingy's from my consultant yesterday and its quite small and quiet so I can bring it to work, (mixing my shakes in secret under my desk...hahaha!) worked a treat...no more lumpy shakes...yay! I have also decided to reach a certain stage and then re assess if I want to lose more weight. My consultant wants me to reach about 10 stone which is about 63kg for my height, which I would love to be at but to be realistic, I think when I reach 69kg, I am going to see how I feel and decided if I want to lose more weight or not. Do you break your weight loss down into mini targets or do you go on every 10 kgs at a time?

I do every 10kgs (over there you do it in stones) - like 89kg, then 79kgs...

I really dont mind the lumps funnily enought and I walk the passage from the kitchen to my office "doing the shake shake shake"... the longer you shake the thicker it gets.

I had chicken breast (roast - gave kids the skin...damnit) and raw cauliflower and cucumber for dinner and it was delish!

Ooh, that does sound delish. I love raw cauliflower!! Come to think of it I bloody love all food...probably the reason I have to do Cambridge in the first place...hahahaha:8855:

Its another cold and rainy day here today. After having my banana shake hot yesterday, I've brought a choc mint one with me today to try hot for lunch today. Hope it's going to be nice. Everyone in the office is going to the pub for lunch today and I have declined. There is no way I could watch them have yummy pub grub and then sit there with my shake...lol. Besides they dont know I'm doing the CD.

Well, my spotting has turned into a full blown TOTM (just two weeks after my last TOTM:eek:). Hubby wants me to stop CD, saying he is worried for me. But, I am stubborn!! and want to lose 4 stone before I stop. I can live with a dilly TOTM for 5-6 more weeks and thereafter I will stop if nothing changes. Have suddenly realised that we only have this weekend left to sort out our kitchen before the units get delivered next Friday and then next weekend to pack up the things in the kitchen so that they can start removing the old one and installing the new one! I will be cooking up a SS+ storm this weekend. Will have to cook about 7-10 meals to see me through that 10 days or so! Busy weekend ahead for me! What are you up to on the weekend Jilly?

Sunflowerlady...are you ok? Getting worried about you! Enjoy your meal out for hubby's b/day tonight! x

Haha Sunflower:8855:! Happy birthday to hubby for today and ENJOY your meal out tonight!!! :553:

So you PREcook all your SS+ meals? Mmmmm... interesting. I do stir fries and have enough for say 2 meals but never thought of doing a week at a time! Good idea batman!

Nice to the new kitchen! I redid cubboard doors, countertops and new sink about 3 years ago and boy -oh -boy is it difficult without a kitchen - so good luck!

Having a rough day - been busy with bookkeepers this morning and in the middle of it my daughters teacher phoned to say she is worried about my child - who is already a worrysome child to me - and now just another spanner in the works. So I'm on the internet investigating "ILT" (integrated learning therapy) which is physical activites I will have to do with her, to get all her muscles and nerves etc working up to speed. She was born prem - I didnt get to hold her - in ICU for 6 weeks - all this could play a part in under development of motor skills and nerves/neurons - apparently. So feeling emotional - and therefore want to eat. Thankfully I only have a shake here with me at work - till tonight - when I get home.

I love raw cauliflower too. I will have it again, with the other chicken breast tonight for dinner. I'm down 1kg so far (official WI is Friday)....

Sorry about the pub lunch - but I agree with you - rather remove yourself from those sorts of situations - and think of that size 16 costume! (PS are we ever going to see pics of your loss??)

I understand dh's concern with spotting and TTOTM and also understand your reluctance to stop CD! It is a common side effect of losing weight quickly - so unless it really bothers you - I'd stick with CD a bit longer?????????

Sunflower, checkin and let us know what you plan on having tonight for dh's birthday?!?

Glad you are here Sunflowerlady! Enjoy every bit of your naughty week!

Jillybeans I dont usually pre cook my food to freeze. Cook it fresh every night but will have to pre cook and freeze for when the kitchen gets installed. That being said, if it works out well, I might continue to do it for when I am ravenously hungry and can't wait for food to cook or when I am short on time. Woo Hoo on being down 1kg so far! Excellent!!

Im going to stay on CD until I have lost 4 stone. I'm not giving up now, have come too far and still got too much to go, if that makes sense. I will post pics once I have lost 4 stone. Right now I dont feel comfortable enough in my own skin. I am getting there though. Hopefully when I post my pics Jilly, you will post some too? Meant to ask everyone how old they are, got the sneaky suspicion I'm the eldest at 37:p

Sorry about your DD Jillybeans. I know how worrying it can be when it comes to our children. I'm a born worrier when it comes to my boys! Does your daughter have an Occupational Therapist that she sees? When we still lived in SA and my DS was 6, just before he started school we took him to see an OT as his motor skills (according to the pre-school he was in) was behind that of all the other kids. I think he saw her for a total of 6 or 7 months and the improvement in him was dramatic. The key is to work with your child (which you will be doing by doing all the excerisises with her) and praise! I cant even begin to tell you how important praise is. Even for the smallest little thing! I find the internet a very useful tool for reading up on different conditions. Good luck and keep us updated with her progress and oh yes.....don't eat because of stress and worry! Try and stay on plan tonight. ((((big hugs)))).

Had the choc mint shake hot and wont be doing that in a hurry again....bleeeuugghhh! There is only one way to describe it....it was k*k sleg!!!! x

Nope! I'm the eldest then - @ 42! (had my kids late in life)

I do too much reading on the internet - which gets my wheels spinning! She's on Ritalin for concentration (just started) which affects her sleep (takes her aggges to fall asleep and she NEEDS her sleep) - so she wakes up groggy and tired, coz not enough sleep! Vicious circle. She's seen a OT, speech therapist, play therapist and now phyciatrist! Each with their own opinions - and I dont know which route to take anymore. Going to keep her on Ritalin for 6 months and see if there is any SIGNIFICANT difference - if not, I'm not going to compromise her sleep due to a meds that isnt "working".... (Ritalin is HIGHLY contraversal and not my first choice - was my last choice)

I normally cook from scratch too - but did make last weekend a stir fry big enough to eat over 2 nights and was kinda nice NOT to have to cook!

I posted pics already on another forum - think you can see them if you go to my profile???

I'm being sent home as I "look awful" (was in tears on the phone to my mum)....

Sorry Jilly....big hugs my friend. Hope you cheer up soon. xx

Can't see any pics on your profile. Can see an album but it says private. x

Hello ladies! I bought a summer dress today! The last time I wore a dress was probably about 10 years ago!! I bought it for my holiday at the end of June and got it in a size 16! Yikes!! Can't wait for it to come so I can try it on!! What do you think? x

Its STUNNING! Those patterns are very slimmingn too.... I couldnt wear it as my boobs are just too big for boob tubes...:wave_cry: They would be hanging like cow udders by my knees...

Sunflower - how was dh's birthday???!?!:553::553: and most importantly, what did you eat???:D

I'm not sure whether to believe my scale this morning??????????? I mean.......HUH..........I've been eating 1 meal a day - 2 shakes and says today I'm in the 92's?? Tomorrow is official WI - so that will be my REAL weight loss for the week (bearing in mind I picked UP weight the last 2 weeks totalling 600g)... Tomorrow's scale will tell....

I weigh myself 3x and see which 2 weights are the same as my scale can bounce up/down 500g a time!

Feeling much better today. Had a long think about what my dd's teacher said, advise she gave, bounced it off my mom (who was really upset) and got the telephone number of a lady to phone today. Dreading phoning my exh as he just doesnt deal with this easily - struggles to acknowledge his child is having problems dealing with life.

My boss is away overseas in Europe for 3 weeks - so I get a bit of a breather....

Sunflower, check in check in...:p

Wow Jillybeans! Hope your scale is right. That would be a fab loss for this week! Good luck for the official WI tomorrow! Glad you are feeling a bit better about your DD and hope everything works out well for you! Thanks for the compliment about the dress. I hope it fits. I'm quite short at 1.60m (5'3) so most likely will have to have it shortened when it comes. Am small busted - always envied people with a bigger boobs, but strangely, likle you most people I meet with bigger boobs (including my own mom!) says they dont like their big boobs!

Hey Sunflowerlady, how was your meal out? Hope you had a great time and enjoyed it!

I went to the pharmacy last night to get some multivitamins for females to help get my hormones back in track (another lady on the forum recommended it) so got there, asked the female pharmacist for some help. Explained the whole situation to her. For her to just turn around saying I cant help you, just take a norman one a day multivitamin and say to me in her words ' you know, you are not doing yourself any good with these fad diets!!!). I was so upset. Put the vitamins back on the shelf, walked out without buying anything and walked accross the road into the supermarket and bought some female multivitamins from there! I just hate it when people judge others. I mean....wtf....would they rather us be obese and unhealthy than trying to lose weight???

The world is always knocking obese people and saying what a burdon on society they are. Now even wanting to charge them more for aeroplane seats. But go to the doc to ask for help to lose weight and you are shrugged down. Even just getting the doc to sign the Cambridge form is a mission!! Then, you do start losing weight and they still complain. You are not doing it right, you are losing weight too quick, you are not doing yourself any favours....I mean really??? What do they want??? Grrr....rant over.

Today is Mango shake for me (cold...wont even attempt this one hot...lol!). Hope you both have a fab day! x

Mango shake? Wow. You sure do get alot more flavours over there. The only "fruity" flavour I have tried is strawberry and I'm not mad about it.

People really are judgmental about VLCD's - I guess if someone told me they were living on shakes for 12 weeks I'd think...MMmmmmmm... not very healthy! However, its not for everyone - I was just at my wits end - and hate diets that make you weigh your food, or calculate your consumption allowed for the day, or food groups, or colours.... so cutting out ALL FOOD was the best way for me personally to lose weight. Now that I'm eating again I'm more wary of what I'm eating, how I cook it and portion sizes. I never want to be fat again. I hated HATED being fat (not that I'm thin!) but I feel like I'm more average now. I'm tall at just under 6ft so have more body area to carry my weight..LOL.

I think I need to get back onto my multivitamin too.

I didnt always have big boobs - In my early to mid 20's I was always a B cup, then I started putting on weight in my late 20's and went to a C - fell pg and got bigger and they have just gotten bigger and bigger - and I'd have thought that with losing nearly 25kgs I'd have lost SOME of my boobs... but alas, not. I'd reall like to lose some tho! So although I've gone down 3 clothes size - my bra size has remained exactly the same. Weird.

Sunflower! Checkin please... and what did you EAT! LOL!

Hey ladies! I made three meals yesterday. A fry up for breakfast. Croque Monsieur (ham and cheese sandwich) for lunch. And a scallop and black pudding risotto for dinner. Plus of course birthday cake and ice cream! I was full after each meal which hubby says is my stomach getting smaller.

Back on it 100% today and will be until next Friday at least when we go camping! Hoping to be good over that time too but may land up with some bbq'd chicken breast.

Then after that we will be completing on the house purchase so will be stressful!

Mango is a great flavour! I love it! Have never tried any of the shakes hot. I have the soups when I need something warm. :)

My WI today was +700g. Oops!!! Back on it so hoping to have a 2kg loss this week. Be good as gold !!!

Hope you sort everything out with your daughter jillybeans xxx

And PT the dress is pretty! Have fun wearing it!!!

I honestly dont know how I did it - but I did - I lost a whopping 3.2kgs this week! :D I am SOOOOO chuffed and a bit concerned too, as although I was good, I did have mothers day ice cream and a a glass of wine! Anyway, weighed 3x and all 3x said 92.5kg! soooooooo close to cracking the 80's which I havnt been near in 10 years!

Ohhhh yummm sunflower...LOL! DH's birthday sounds amazing! Yep, in your head you KNEW his birthday was going to be off plan, but to get back on again (it will be difficult - I do warn you)....

As a treat to myself, I'm going to take the kids and me to The Spur for dinner tonight! I have a friend coming over for lunch tomorrow with her kids but we are doing roast chicken and salads!!!

Oh I did what we chatted about PT - I did a massive stir fry last night using 4 chicken breasts and a mass of veggies (probably not all CD approved) and have enough now for at least another 2 meals....!

Wow! 3.2kg in one week! Fab loss jillybeans you go girl! You and pink tulip are really kicking my butt when it comes to losses! I can sense this week however will be a good one! I lost 900g this morning! So water weight is all gone so now down to the nitty gritty of getting to 95!

Spur... JEALOUS!!! Enough said.... Caramel.... Double.... Thick.... Malt.... Drooooollll!!!!!

Was 100% yesterday. No cheating :) and I went for a walk too... Planning on doing another one today, so hope it's another good loss tomorrow!!!
