The journey to a new me!

I'm also going to buy some size 16 jeans this weekend - but every store has a different cut, so I will need to try them on before I buy!

Yeah, my dd has "selective hearing" (as we all do) and she likes to leave things to the last second (which I dont do!) and it drives me mad! She has a project to do "build a boat" that my son begged me start a week ago - my dd doesnt give a toss. Anyway, the feedback will be very interesting to hear (as a parent, you always wonder what you're doing wrong when they dont conform to 'the norm' - and I've realised my ds IS THE NORM but my dd is NOT the norm - doesnt mean she's doff, just means she processes things differently, and stuff that bothers ME doesnt bother HER. Doesnt mean I'm right and she's wrong.... anyyyyywayyyy)

OUMA RUSKS are THE BEST! There is a new one called "breakfast rusk" (look out for it at the SA day) which has pumpkin seeds in it and IS THE BEST! I dunno what happened last night, I just was having coffee with my friend and I hauled out the rusks and then the box was kapput!!!

I've been good today so far (always am till around 5pm!) I'm a closset eater so I wait for the kids to go to bed and then I closset snooooop.

LOL Jillybeans, you do make me laugh:D! I'll def look out for those rusks at the SA day. My little one already has a list as long as my arm of all the things I should buy him...lol. We went to a shopping centre last Friday and they had a Sweets from Heaven in there. He chose peppermint crisps, flings, big corn bites and those square toffee sweets...the ones that taste like cola...cant remember their name now. He loves SA foods (even though he was born here) and don't even get me started on biltong. Must be in his blood...lol!:p

Sunflowerlady, how was WI last night? Completely forgot to ask you.

xx

I know those cola sweets you talk of - we buy them by the handful at the teller in the garage shop! Give you a headache after the 30'th one - from chewing! :D

Billtong, droe worse...MMMM... I'm a meat eater and we always have this in our house (I put it in the kids lunch boxes............mostly...............sometimes.... and sometimes it doesnt make it to the lunch box.....mmmm)

I'm sure you could make your own billtong there? I have a SA friend in Ireland and he makes his own billtong?

Oh man! I'm getting excited about your SA day outing now!!! Boerie rolls too!!!

Hubby makes us Biltong. He built a special box to make it in. But droe wors, that's another story. Though we do make our own boerewors. It' just so darn difficult to get the casings for droe wors. The Tannies at the SA day make the yummiest vetkoek and mince, pannekoek, koeksisters and the lis is never ending, but sadly I'll have none of it. Will have a shake before we go and take a bar for dinner. Spur UK will also be sponsoring some food. We are staying quite late as the evening entertainment included Lilani May and Arno Jordaan amongst others! Sunflowerlady, such a pity you are moving house this weekend, we could have met up there :)

Oooopsssiedaisy - I picked up this week. ALOT! But I'm not surprised.

Back at it again... portion size is my problem it seems (and PMS).

I LOVE VETKOEK!! AND KOEKSISTERS! Oh my god its going to be difficult going tomorrow (well it would be for me)!! YOu are brave to go along end of story!!!

I cant believe its the end of MAY already. Cold front meant to arrive on Monday. YUK.

Right - about to email my consultant and expect negative comments back from her. :wave_cry:

Morning ladies! Nevermind Jillybeans, if you stick to it this week, the gain will be gone before ling. Onwards and downwards as they say! I am at home today, the kitchen is coming along but far from finished. Hopefully middle next week. Jillybeans, I can still resist most things, but the smell of the potjiekos is probably going to be the hardest. My hubby is my rock though....he'll keep me on track tomorrow :) Today and the weekend is set to be warmer weather...yay! WI on Monday, can't believe it will be my 12th one! Sunday we go to a friends sons Catholic confirmation party. Again, I'll stay on plan. I have been thinking about what I'll do when in holiday and decided that I'll stay on plan as best I can. Take bars and shakes with and have that for breakfast and lunch and dinner will be chicken, fish, steak and veggies. I won't be doing any carbs or sugars. Drink my water everyday and do some walking and swimming. Hopefully that way, the damage will be minimum. So what's everyone doing this weekend? x

:happy096:You are blimmin marvelous PT!:worthy::worthy::worthy: You have the stamina and willpower of a BULL!:sign0151::sign0151: 12 weeks is a major feat!! I lost the plot around 10 weeks.... felt hard done by!

My kids catch me sneaky eating and threaten to "tell on me"!!!

Its going to be hard when on holiday - but at the same time you want to at least ENJOY your time away - so I say if you stick to cutting out carbs and sugar, drink your water and eat veggies/salad/chicken/fish - you'll be A-OK!!!! Its the alcohol that may get to you tho..... I really enjoy a glass of wine at night when on holiday! But you also get low calorie wine?!?!

I am so angry at myself that I want to eat!:17729: (but I wont!) or... I'll try not to..... promise.

Lol at your kids threatening to split on you...hahaha! I think I've just reached the point where I want the weight gone and I don't want to be on CWP forever nor no I want to ne on a diet forever, so I'm knuckling down now, getting it over and done with ad quick as I can. I knew there would be social events along the way, but there is always social events, so if I cave for those now, I'll just increase my time on CWP. It's darn hard though! I have many times where I am so tempted to cheat. It takes al I have not to! Alcohol is not an issue for me as I don't drink. Seriously, not at all. Have never. Just dont like the taste. Food and sweet things in particular are my downfall! I cant wait to start baking again. I stopped when I startef CWP but am so looking toward to start again, but this time I wont sample everything....lol and I'm going to bake healthy treats from now on. My outlook on food is changing a lot and I am thinking about how I will not gain weight when I'm at goal. Have been looking into low calorie recipes for the whole family and hubby bought me the Hairy Bikers slimming cookbook! Can't wait to start making some of those dishes :) I am constantly dreaming of food though. The dreams are so real, I can taste the food....lol. X

PS, Sorry for spelling mistakes, typing from phone today. x

I also look at new recipes to make! I'm not a good cook and cook very basic meals... but I do look at food differently (and esp carbs). I love a good bottle of wine. I miss not drinking. I was going to make chocolate brownies this weekend with my daughter, but I'm scared to at the moment coz my willpower is at a all time low.

I get what you're saying. I dont want to be on CD forever and at some stage will need to join society 100% again. I also just want the weight gone, but then I have moments of not giving a sh(@* and then suffering (like today) for the over eating. I have some chicken left over for my chicken wrap tonight (loving the wraps) but am scared now.

I am so excited for your SA day outing tomorrow!!!!!!!

Nearly time for vanilla shake. Yippee. Not. My tummy is rumbling today. Big time.

Hi ladies! We completed today! Yay!

Just to say as a result of it, I have no phone reception or internet access for the next two weeks! Might not be on here that often! But will still be on the diet and try to pop in when I can! Xxx

Congrats Sunflowerlady, hope you will have many happy years in your new home. The SA day was really nice. So many people, it gets bigger every year. The food smells were to die for...but I survived. Had soup before we went and had a lemon bar around 5pm. Got home and then had some quorn and cabbage :) But phew, it was difficult! Tomorrow is another socialising event out but will again eat before I go. Hope you both had a lovely Saturday! x

Hello ladies :) Hope you both had a great weekend! Went to a party today and stayed on plan. People noticed the weight loss, which was nice :) A friends mom actually did not greet me at first cause she didn't recognise me...lol. Tomorrow is WI. Hoping for a 2 or 3lb loss...that would be nice! Hopefully Mr Kitchen man finishes this week, fingers crossed! Jillybeans, where are you? How was your weekend? xx

So we continue to chat without sunflower..... we'll miss you!

My weekend was nice. I made a lekker roast yesterday, topside, roast potatoes, rice, veggies - as I had a friend over and her kids, I made myself a salad and put some topside on top and ate that whilst everyone had potatoes, rice and veggies and gravy!

I was 'better't his weekend - but I cannot say hand over heart I was GOOD!

Good luck for WI and I'm pretty sure you've more than topped 2lbs! You really are a matar! Well done on SA day and going out on Sunday too..... I think that switch has clicked over in your brain and you're "in the zone".... I need to find that switch again!

Going to try very hard the next 4 days before WI to nudge the weight I put on last week - off!

Oohh, the roast and trimmings sounds nice! Red meat...how I miss and love thee....lol:) Saturday night I was dreaming all night of oxtail potjie...lol:p I told hubby that if he wakes up in the night and I'm nibbling his arm, not to get a fright, just to know I'm dreaming of eating meat again...hahahaha!!!

My next socialising event is in 3 weeks time when we have friends over for a BBQ, so I have a couple of weeks' grace. Did you manage to buy that size 16 denim yet? I bought a pair of cropped jeans in a 16 but they are still quite small and seem to be a 'tight' fit and small for a 16, so think I need to go buy another denim, one that's not so tight fitting. x

Got back from WI and lost 3lb! Yay!! That's just 1lb short of 3.5 stone in 12 weeks on SS+! Very happy with that and just 8lb more to go before my 4th stone which I can hopefully do in 3 weeks time (fingers crossed!!) - whoo hoo!! It just makes me feel like the hard work of not caving on the weekend is worth it:).

Jillybeans, when is that wedding again? How much weight do you want to shift before then? xx

WELL DONE PT!!!!! :D You really are in the zone and I'm pretty confident you'll exceed your target of 4st by the end of this month!

The wedding is on 29 June - so end of this month and I'd hoped to have lost 7kgs by then, but realistically, and the way my "non mind shift" is at the moment its not going to happen, so at this stage, I'd just be happy with Plan B (be in the 80's) by then. Now before the actual wedding I have the bachelorette party to attend ( a feast and drinking binge) too!

I never did buy the size 16s this weekend as shopping for myself with my kids is no fun and when I clothes shop these days, I need to try stuff on! But I am in a size 16 black work trousers today!!! :talk017::talk017:

I'm planning on being 100% the rest of this week..... coz the wheels are just coming off and I really cant afford the wheels to come off just yet!

Salad and chicken me thinks is for dinner tonight.....

I also have been CRAVING red meat! I want a lump of sirloin steak. I'm so sick of chicken stir fry!

:happy096: Jillybeans on reaching that size 16 works trousers!! That's fab!! :woohoo:

Dont blame you for being sick of stir fry...lol. Try something else that's low fat. How about making some spicy fish cakes with spices and some white fish and then having it with some salad leaves or making a veggie soup for dinner now that its getting colder? I find that making my soup and then adding my veg and chicken/quorn to it makes for a large bowl of food at night and very filling. If you are still craving something sweet after that how about a cup of fruit/herbal tea with some sweetner? We get stuff here called Boullion and it's like a low cal fat powder that you can add to water and it gives it a veggie/savoury flavour. My CDC said that I could have one of those a day if I felt I needed something savoury?

I am sure you can reach the 80's by that wedding! As they say ' bring your head in and your body will follow':)
.

I've been thinking/wondering how a veggie soup would fit into this diet? I would use a oxo cube (do you remember them) and add a mass of veggies - do you think that would be ok? Coz YES I'm pretty sick of stir fry chicken!

I made the kids a fish bake last night with hake - basically layered it with hake on the bottom of the dish, then a layer of mixed veggies and butternut, then a layer of mash potato on the top and I must admit it smelt and looked devine. They liked it (enough for another meal) and I liked the look of the hake. I fry it for them with fish spices, I guess I could have hake if I grilled it in the oven tho? I think I need a change from chicken or I'm going to start klukking!:bliss::bliss:

I'm having terrible sweet cravings (I do have a sweet tooth as it is) so suck on a spoon of peanut butter (better than a slab of chocolate!) but I always get the sweet cravings the week before TTOTM (last week) -!!

I had a sneaky WI this morning and am pleasantly surprised! It seems that 2kgs I picked up last week is gone (not sure how?) so the rest of this week will just be a bonus! I guess I must've been retaining water last week too (I've been taking my water retention tabs again the past few days)

Meant to ask how you're feeling on your woman multivit??? Has your body settled down yet? I've been having my effravessent multivit the past few mornings as winter approaches - just for a boost - wondering how it will affect weightloss (told my consultant I was taking extra vitamins and she just about had heart failure telling me I didnt NEED the vitamins - WTF - I think everyone can do with extra vitamins when they're feeling run down and as winter approaches! How can you say "your body doesnt need anything extra:mad:"?!?!? (I'm really disliking her more and more these days - I dont speak to her until its time to order, then suddenly I hear from her)

Going to google some veggie soup recipes...

I am not sure if you can use an Oxo cube or not? Is the salt content in there high? Maybe they make a low fat/salt one? The fish bake you made sounds yummy!!

Well done on losing that 2kg, thats fantastic! Onwards and downwards as they say:).

I stopped the womens multi vit as soon as my monthly's returned to normal. Havent taken it since but while I was taking it, I felt good. My energy levels were up and I was not so tired anymore. Having 3 Cambridge products a day gives you all the nutrients you apparently need, but you are only having 1 or 2 a day, so in my opinion you are short on some vitamins. If you take them, they make you feel better and they dont interfere with your losses, I cant see why not? I know they say too much of certain vitamins can be harmful but I honestly dont know what % over and above the recommended daily allowance is harmful? Perhaps your doc or pharmacist can tell you?

Im lucky with my consultant, she is lovely. Always there to help and goes out of her way to accommodate me. Today was such a hectic day. Everying went wrong and everybody at work wanted something at the same time!! Run off my feet...that's how I feel...lol

Had a porridge for brekkie and a hot choc mint shake for lunch. I'm really hoping to lose 3lb this week, but it's the week before TOTM is supposed to start and I always retain water that week:sigh:. The kitchen is coming along nicely and he should finish tomorrow (hopefully!!), if not then Thursday. But it looks lovely. The tiler comes Monday and thereafter hubby can put the floor in, but we can at least start moving everything back this weekend and get my house back to semi-normality!!

Meant to say you can always take hake and then put it in some foil with your veg allowance on top of it, cover with the foil and spices and then bake in the oven. Should all come out nice and juicy!

So how many kg's have you got to go before the 80's

xx
