The really slow loss team!


Get your tape measure out Lisa. I have only lost a paltry 4lbs or so in the past 2 months but I have lost 8.5 inches and dropped a dress size with my best friend/worst enemy Jillian ;) I could barely squeeze into size 14 jeans 2 months ago and now size 12 have room but my BMI/weight is still waaaaay high!

I've actually kept in mind your post last week about your amazing inch loss results, they've inspired me to keep up with my Jillian workouts! My problem is (& I know this is bad) that when I take measurements I then re-take them, I can never measure the same place twice so they're not accurate, so I don't bother taking them! I know I should, but to me I much prefer to FEEL where I've lost the weight rather than know in numbers. I think also because numbers (especially on scales) are my enemy!!

SW finally got back to me about my lack of weight loss and surprise surprise they completely copped out told my consultant to tell me nothing wrong with the plan and I should see a Dr as probably fault lies with me as 99.99% do lose weight. My consultant was gutted for me.

I am away on holiday next week with my mother and we are going to Spain all inclusive, so I will review when I get back.

Weight as usual up 2 down 0.5 etc etc.

Lovely to see new faces and love to old faces as well xxx

Hi there Latte. Lovely to "see" you again :D I am still here and still losing like a tortoise although I have given up with SW completely and now calorie count and use some Slim Fast shakes too. I am on a bit of a plateau right now, I think due to my manic efforts with strength exercises and running! Losing some inches though, which is encouraging.

So sorry SW seem so disnterested in why you should be the 00.01% that don't lose - I am in the same boath as you and would have been delighted to hear what they had to say. TBH I think a lot of mine was down to portion control as now I am having to weigh and measure everything it does appear to be shift - albeit still INCREDIBLY slowly :rolleyes: Now I know they do say eat "only until you are full".... my trouble is I don't have a "off button and can eat most large men under the table truth be told!

Enjoy your holiday and have a think about it whilst you are away, then decide when you come back :)
 
Amazing isn't it that they take the money from you and the time and money you've invested in their programme and the response you get is well it works for pretty much everyone else! God that annoys me!!!

I calorie count now too, using SW diet. 1300 cals a day though doesn't really feel like much. When I put everything in I have to have really small portions, but am sticking to it so hopefully this Friday will see something positive.

Have you tried that too? Like using SW as your diet but restricting cals? SW was working so slowly for me but my diet was really good pre SW I just blatantly ate too much as free food doesn't work for me at all! Xx
 
I spent hours writing out 12 weeks worth of food diaries and two pages about my health problems and the fact I have had many blood tests to determine why I fail to lose weight normally and they ignored everything. Not to mention it too two months for them to get back to me. It really is disgusting.

I agree I do need to calorie count as well but I find it so hard. I still pay for weight loss resources the calorie counting website but am ashamed to say I haven't logged in for a couple of months.

I need to see what the stomach specialist says this week and revaluate after my holiday.

Sorry you've been having a tough time recently, I've been thinking of you, wondering how things have been.


I stopped SW for the same reason, I stuck to plan 100% & kept gaining & all I was told was "well Lisa what have you been doing?!". I used to come home in tears every week, that's not what it's about. It's supposed to be a support system. As much as I miss image therapy (I liked hearing how people were doing) I get a lot more support from everyone on here :) including you as I know we suffer the same hormone troubles.


Whatever you decide to do, I think you should take it easy until you see your specialist & really relax & enjoy your holiday. Then try to get to grips with a plan of some sort & get straight into it.

EE just doesn't work for me.

The only time I've been to a SW class I have to say I wasn't that impressed. The consultant just wasn't interested in helping the girls who had gained for no reason.
I'm sure they're not well up on the health issues that can cause people to not lose.
And as for SW Head Office. Don't start me on them.
I emailed them 12 months ago with a query on my mum's behalf and I'm still awaiting a response!

Summer has well and truly arrived here on the Costa Blanca. It was 35c last week whilst I was in the UK and 32c today.
It's still 28c and it's 03:00 here now! Forecast to be cooler tomorrow at a mere 28c !!!! :eek:
 
I was reading about becomming an SW and WW leader you just need to have done the program you don't have to have any particular qualifications it seems so I'd imagine there's a lot of questions they can't answer unless they do a lot of study on their own part. I had a fantastic WW leader once but then she moved and it was never the same again I didn't get the satifaction from the losses or the help when I gained. I'd love to become a leader sometime to help other people out - obviously once I've finally achieved and maintained.

Aw latte that is so rubbish of them! I too eat Sw but calorie count cos I hadn't lost much since November. C didn't really have much to offer although she was lovely but I knew if I wanted to lose weight it had to come from me and I needed to try something else cos I eat healthy anyway and Sw is fab as its changed my eating habits for life but the free food element is dangerous for me I will just eat and eat. Could you input a typical days food into my fitness pal and see what it's coming out with? It may help? Hormone problems are the pits though and really hinder weight loss, don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy your hol. I'm well jealous!!:)

Well I got wrecked last night with my brother for his birthday and feel terrible today :(

Well I'm still totally on plan but expecting a gain tomorrow, I'll be gutted as I deserve a loss, but I'm really focused & SO focused on my exercise. Usually on work nights I don't have much energy but last night I was buzzing so I did my 40-50min Jillian workout. Boy she kicked my butt!! I was seriously sweating but I loved it. Plus I burned 530 calories!! I'm really hoping that if I'm diligent & stick with it I'll soon see the changes in myself. Considering how often I gain I find it a surprise that I can motivate myself so easily! Won't complain :)
 
Weight loss resources is a paid calorie counting website and I have been a member for years. I need to get off my butt when I get back.

My consultant has tried really hard to help me and I place the blame fully at head office they just aren't interested in people who don't fit in the mould.

Pomme I am going with my mum to Costa del sol we fly into Malaga from Liverpool and staying near Mijas I think. I know the hotel is on the beach.

It's such a shame they won't help you. Especially since you've been paying your money! I would ask for a refund and put in a complaint. X

Hey Lisa chin up we can't be measuring our self worth by the scales - what deserves a reward is your improved behaviour and the fact that your taking care of yourself and your body. The scales is just a by-product. And as I tell myself all the time 2 out of 3 times its wrong. Keep up the great work and try to turn the negative thoughts about "not loosing" into thoughts about all the things your gaining by loosing the weight. I'm as obsessed with the scales as anyone but logically I know its just a metal object with a spring in it that makes comparisons between having nothing on it and me on and I'm worth a hell of a lot more than nothing

That's awesome advice.. It's really true we shouldn't feel bad about no losses but try looking At the impact it'll have on our general health. I like that! I always get depressed about the scales so I'll try looking at it that way xx
 
It really is :) I always try to keep in mind that it's not all about the numbers, but obviously when you stick to plan you do expect to lose weight (especially when SW promises you will!) but I know that even if I am still currently overweight I'm the healthiest I've ever been. I LOVE fruit & veg & regularly exercise, which I am proud of as the majority I know doing SW lose weight just by the food programme, they don't even have to life a weight, it doesn't work like that for me, but I'm happy with that as I love exercise & find it really helps lift my mood. Even my gruelling 50min workout last night gave me a smile! Weirdo or what ;)

Have a great time Latte, we stayed at Mijas Costa in March and really enjoyed ourselves.
You'll probably find you're near Fuengirola which I liked. A nice mixture of holiday town but some lovely old bits if you go and search for them!
And some great tapas bars! Enjoy them, Just avoid the ones with the mayo in!!!! :8855:
 
Morning peeps!!!! Well after 2 terrible days now I am determined to pull myself around. I am cutting the grass today then am going to
Go for a long walk later and I'm sticking to 1200 cals if it kills me. My periods are messed up, started spotting again yesterday and had mass period pains but nothing again today. I think it's the herbal tablets trying to regulate my periods. I can only take them for 6 months and in that time they're meant to get a regular cycle going. God I hope so.
