The really slow loss team!

That sounds really scary!!!! :(

It's been the same situation for a long time now Lou so I have got quite blase about it most of the time. Anyway, it's better than being brown bread any day of the week!

Very very true!! You trooper!

Pom bloat is the worst!!! It'll be off soon!! Avoid those carbs and I bet y see a big drop hun.

I'm having my first period in 7 bloody weeks, it's a bad one, I feel so ill, I think I've had a bug too and I've been in bed all afternoon, I could have just slept all night too. Lost my appetite and have literally no energy. Hubby's put his back out and got a wedding event to organise for Sunday Aaaargh. Need to recover!! So gonna pop a load of vitamins and go to bed really early. Eating chicken soup all day today cos I just can't face anything else. Meant to be at weigh in tomorrow but not sure I can face it, I just feel so rotten

The new med I am on in a stronger form are also chemotherapy drugs and they are being used to suppress my immune system as well as apparently a suppressed system means less inflammation and can put the Crohns in remission hopefully.
I am now on methotrexate once a week with folic acid once a week.
Predisolone is the other steroid but luckily I have been able to tolerate the budesonide / entocort and I did put on 9lb but that seems to be the only side effect.
I drop down to 1 a day this Friday I think

Can I join this team?! I knew I was a slow loser but even I was disappointed by my first weeks weight loss of....... 1lb! I really expected more and am peeved- not giving up tho!

Fingers crossed for you Latte - chemo can work wonders for Crohn's! So many folks thing chemo is only for cancer, but it is used successfully for so many other things too.
I am now on methotrexate once a week with folic acid once a week. Metho is a total non-no for me. The side effects were so bad I thought I was going to shuffle off this mortal coil! I am delighted you can tolerate it as it is one of the best suppressants around and should really help.

Wahoo! I am currently on five times that dose of Pred, but hoping that blood tests at the end this week are better and I can cut back down to my usual winter dose of 3 or 3.5 a day - here's hoping! One or two a day is my normal summer dose, but I can at least lose weight on that, albeit slowly, and I don't get the rages, the ghastly dry thinning skin or the balding at that dose either - perhaps that explains why Al loves me so much better in the summer...... I'm not so fat, bald, wrinkly and miserable ;) :8855::giggle:

Couldn't click "like" for the whole comment really but I did giggle at this! :8855: :giggle:

Well done Lou!

Sorry to read about everything going on with you all at the mo, what a tough gaggle of tortoises you are :) xx

Annya we are a right pair! I see my specialist Friday to discuss my blood tests. A few people have said I am lucky I seem to be able to tolerate the methotrexate and 48 hours of feeling sick and nauseous makes up for a huge reduction in the pain.

Drum roll please I lost 1lb last night so that is 2.5lbs in 4 weeks which I am over the moon with. Only 6.5lbs to go of the weight I put on and I do drop to 1steroid tablet a day on Friday for another 4 weeks then hopefully finito

Wahoooo!!!! Well done Latte, I know how hard you have worked to shift that pound :D

Keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed that you can knock your steroids on the head soon and achieve remission. Sadly I will always need mine as part of my anti-rejection regime, but I am looking forward to the summer when I know I can lose a pound (or sometimes even more!) a week if I am good. This time of year, and especially just now, I find it very difficult to stay positive when I try so hard and lose so little......or even gain if my body decides to hang on to everything :sigh: Still, I am NOT giving in this winter, hungry or not - the game is still on :)

Annya that is true fighting spirit x

Latte - well done chica. That's a great loss considering the steroids.
Annya - ((( big hugs ))) again, I know I would have caved in by now if I was in your circs.

In fact ((( big hugs ))) to you both and thanks for your support on my fred.

Another 3.5lbs off!! :D

This is NOT slow weight loss Lindsay - you get lines this time as well as the naughty step and buying a round for everyone
:8855:

Do it again next week and Pom will have to meet out your punishment ;)

Ladies I'm so anxious for WI tomorrow, been doing EE all week, and obv keeping track of my portions/cals on MFP so really hope it's worked. In the past I've only really gotten 1/2lb a week losses doing solely EE but didn't track my portions. So hoping I get a decent loss, I really want that Xmas weight off now :(

I have been 100%, even have some SYNS left over. So here's hoping!

3lb is definitely no slow loser! I'll have a gin and slimline tonic thanks! Well done x

I jumped on the scales this morning and was delighted to see a pound off, so only one more to go to get it my first target of getting back to 170 and then into the 160s again.

CHUFFED!

Congratulation Annya that is Fab
